Hello Diary,

It is a Thursday, have been busy preparing for the winter doldrums, daily activities and enjoying life for a time… all is quiet outdoors, the ground feeder, once a busy community now lies still as most of my backyard friends have left to find the destiny that Fate has waiting for them, to follow their dreams.. “All one can do is know happiness by following ones dreams, being led by one’s heart, and it is up to the rest of the world to accept or not” (Author Unknown)..

The House Wrens nest now lies empty of life but filled with memories.. perhaps one day the

And finally, there were a Ash tree on this place in the backyard but it developed a disease and had to be removed… however, like the free dandelion seed, a adventuresome maple seed, with the will to live life, decided to call the place home… “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ( Maria Robinson )… 🙂

It is a Thursday and nearing the end of a pleasant week… took advantage of the weather to venture out into the gardens and backyard for a time.. the future promises to be hot and dry weather, the other side of the coin as to the weather of the past… but woke up to a pleasant day today… 🙂

The tree line on the horizon is 6 miles ( 9.5 KM ) away… I were not the only creature on the path enjoying the day… observed Mother cardinal protecting her babies in the nest the cardinal family put in the hanging pot… “ The love a mother has for her children is legendary, it is said a child is the mother’s heart outside her body.” (Author Unknown)

If by following my dreams means I may be seen as different, rather than follow the crowd I believe I’d like to be different… 🙂

It is a Wednesday, had some pleasant weather past few days, took advantage and ventured outdoors… more heat later the week and weekend… thought I would take a break in the activities so share a few thoughts… while on the subject of being different and helping others, I also work with the Invasive Mosquito Project to watch for disease carrying mosquitoes… the project were originally designed as a school project so while I do the work, the local school gets the credit… 🙂

Using Tupperware containers, plastic drinking cups and brown coffee filters, I made what is referred to as Oviposition cups…

I made two different types of cups (4 cups altogether) and I set then outdoors in different locations…

Every 7 days I gather the cups and replace the old filters with new filters and let dry…

Then I take the time to use my little USB microscope and scan the dry filters and post my findings on the projects website…

I dampen the filter, put in a Ziploc bag and mail to the Project’s location where they can hatch the egg to determine the type of mosquito…

Yes, it is a Sunday and thus far a quiet Sunday (the storm earlier moved away), though possible storms later today… a short time ago, took this photo of what is called a Towering Cumulus, indicating a unstable atmosphere and the possible beginnings of a thunderstorm so preparing… “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”. And as I contemplate the future, I realize that dealing with nature is a great deal like dealing with life… as I gaze about the world, there are manmade storms brewing…. how one deals with those storms, nature and manmade can determine ones destiny… “Anyone can achieve their fullest potential… who we are might be predetermined, but the path we follow is always of our own choosing. We should never allow our fears or the expectations of others to set the frontiers of our destiny. Your destiny can’t be changed but, it can be challenged. There are times when I am following my dreams that the road can get a bit bumpy and filled with challenges, it is then I recall the words of Mr. Roosevelt.. 🙂

Hello Diary,

It’s a quiet Sunday morning after a few days of heat, humidity and storms, some remnants of the weather left over…

Managed to emerge unscathed “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” (Author Unknown).. 🙂

And during those storms, while venturing down memory lane and contemplating the future, I came across a dream I had… 🙂 “There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.” – (Douglas H. Everett)

In history’s past on the path I had a dream
Of the world in harmony it did seem,
Accepting one as who they believe and are
One’s life’s choices, no one did bar.

Free, to climb a mountain, to touch a star

So it is on down the path I must go… I cannot turn back the clock as “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ( Maria Robinson ) but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…
