Hello Diary,

Taking a brief break in chasing dreams while venturing down the path of life to share a few thoughts… pleasant weather for past few days and ventured out to feed the fish in the pond…

pond fish

The pond is about 8 feet by 6 feet and averages 2 feet deep… seen the red hibiscus in full bloom…

red hibiscus

And around the corner the hosta were blooming also…

hosta

Blooming is slowly coming to the end and are starting to preparing for the winter doldrums with fall on the horizon…. another indication of fall approaching are the spiders… this spider decided to use the car and the house…. 🙂

spider web

The web is near 5 feet across and the spider were approximately 4 inches across.. the spider tucked out of sight just before I took the picture… 🙂

It is definitely the time of year to have some kind of light should one venture outdoors at night as I seen this spider while gathering the weather data… 🙂

spider 1

But, like all other creatures, even though they are different they have a place here on the path to seek out their destiny and follow their dreams…

The new year is rapidly approaching
As I contemplate the tomorrow,
Leaving some memories filled with happiness
A few memories filled with sorrow.

I peer out my window
At a world cold and bleak,
A world of conflict, anger and hate
Mortals are suffering as I speak.

But we have a dream
All my friends and I,
That one day there will be peace
No more mortals will die.

And there will be hope
Of a world filled with love one day,
A wish that could come true
For hope is the last to die…they say.

Not a world of race, color or gender
Nor closed minded ridicule or prejudice…you see,
But a world that respects another’s dream
Of what or who they wish to be.

So I peer out the window
Not with sadness, fear or sorrows,
But a heart filled with a dream of love and peace
For a world and all its tomorrows.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Well, I had better close for now… more adventures in the winds and dreams to follow… “Oh, yesterday’s over my shoulder, so I can’t look back for too long, there’s just too much to see waiting in front of me, and I know that I just can’t go wrong” (Jimmy Buffet).. but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Until we meet again……

May your spirit only know peace
May your heart only know love
May all your dreams come true
May your life’s journey be filled with happiness
And life is all that you wish for it to be….
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

horizon

As I gaze upon the horizon
Where my Fate waits for me,
My mind gently browses the past
That which has become a memory.

I grew up on a farm
Ohhhhh, the dreams had I,
To save the world from the evil dragons
Once, as a ole Marine, I did try.

I once loved and and lost
Suffered a broken heart, they say,
But now the heart has mended
As love managed to find a way.

With my hands I helped build a nation
Now the back is tired and sore,
But no white flag of surrender here
With a heart of dreams to do much more.

There were those by whom I were scorned
As I ventured down life’s highway,
They ridiculed and condemed
As I lived and love life my way.

Of the life I lived, I have no regrets
Would not change a thing, I must confess,
And I will continue to be me
As I venture down the path of happiness.

As my mortal clock starts to wind down
One wonders, is there another life for me,
Sadley, I must close, and seek out Fate
For Fate has the answer, Fate is the key.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Hello Diary,

Taking a brief break from dealing with life’s challenges to share a few thoughts… Although warm and humid, woke up to a tranquil morning here on the path and as I were gathering weather data and in the gardens, I not only took a photo of the horizon, but also the hibiscus in full splendor….

hibiscus

And while I had camera in hand, I decided to take a, wait for it ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… SELFIE… 🙂

With mask… 🙂

with mask

Without mask… 🙂

without mask

I know, I know, I should have left the mask on… 🙂 🙂 🙂

And though it is quiet and serene at the moment, both I and my backyard friends know that change is in the winds… “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past and present are certain to miss the future.” (John F. Kennedy)… 🙂

A quiet morning to wake up to
Listening to the birds sing,
Contemplating today and my tomorrows
Wondering, what the future might bring.

A quiet morning, life is calling
Beckoning on the path, its adventures many to unfold,
Each adventure to explore and treasure
One day, to become a memory to behold.

And change is slowly coming, it whispers in the winds
The door is slowly closing on past history,
One wonders what Fate has waiting
For the future is still shrouded in mystery.

Does change stop at mortal death, one wonders
Or does it go on forever and ever,
Will I ask the same at another time and place
Somewhere past the 12th of Never?

Will thought and spirit continue
When, as in all things, time comes to an end,
Or does all things cease to be when
To the grave, the mortal body Fate does send.

Alas, but must deal with the present
So now will store thoughts and musings yet to be told,
For it’s down the path least traveled I do venture
To search and hopefully find….what life, and Fate, may behold.
( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

As I venture down the path least traveled, my eye is on the horizon, ever searching for that rainbow, where my answers are… 🙂

Well, I had better close for now, more life challenges and adventures waiting for me, but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Hello Diary…

Taking a brief break from chasing dreams, dealing with life’s challenges and the weather to leave a few thoughts… beginning to feel like living in the Amazon… but we will get through it all by following the heart… 🙂

The one thing I like about summer here on the path, is when I venture out into the gardens of a morning to gather weather data, my friends the birds greet me with their chorus… even though they are different, they all sing in harmony… 🙂

I live in a not so secret garden
Along the path least traveled,
Quite unlike the other world
A world that has become unraveled.

A place where one is accepted as who they are
A spirit kindled to life, when mortal born,
A being coming from the depths within
And not subject to ridicule and scorn.

A place where I know freedom of thought and being
I am what I am, don’t you see,
Neither this one, neither that one, but all the above
In a mortal world, a free spirit, that’s me.

A garden of peace and harmony
Being different does not matter here,
All creatures, big and small, living together
Unlike the other world, they do not live in fear.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
Not sure, or dwell, on our final destiny,
But live to enjoy the moment, the hour, the day
That is what life is about, don’t you see.

So into the not so secret garden I will venture
Along the path least traveled,
To find love, understanding, to follow one’s dreams
Unlike the other world unraveled.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller )

And here in the gardens on the path least traveled, we always have a eye on the horizon and the rainbow…. 🙂

Well, better close for now and finish the day and contemplate the tomorrows… will return again one day, Fate be willing and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Until we meet again…

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know happiness
On your journey through life.

In history’s past, on the path, I had a dream
Of a world in harmony it did seem,
Accepting one as to who they believe and are
One’s lifes choices no one did bar.

Free to climb a mountain, to touch a star
Free to search the universe, where answers are,
Free to venture through life, with open mind
Another’s belief, it did not blind.

Free to boldly walk the lands, both far and near
To lives one’s life without suffering or fear,
Not to be accepted by belief, gender or race, you see
But by the love, understanding and knowledge of a spirit born free.

Children could follow their own dream, you see
Not to be denied by another’s ideology,
To follow the destiny of their own choice
Not to be hindered by another’s voice.

I still have that dream, you know
A dream that began a long time ago,
A dream without end, each and every day
Until the four winds, they all blow away.

Hello Diary…

Taking a brief break from traveling down life’s path, dealing with challenges and the weather… thought I would share a few thoughts (some that rhyme) before batting down the hatches… yes, in dealing with the weather may have a few storms later today (black arrow)…

weather map

Under wind advisories at the moment, hopefully it will pass without anything severe… but storms or no, will live life and follow dreams…“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” (Author Unknown)…

Shortly after my last visit, Diary, I saw the kittens playing and following their dreams also…

kittens playinig

I haven’t seen them for some time so perhaps they have moved on in search of their destiny… 🙂 while out and about, saw the clematis getting ready to “dance in the rain”… 🙂

Here is some nestled among the wisteria…..

clemais 2

And here is some near the front door, welcoming folks who may pass by or perhaps stop in for a visit… 🙂

clematis 1

And after dealing with the winter type temperatures, with the warm tropical conditions here on the path at present, the hostas are making their presence known… 🙂

hostas

Well, I had better close for now, finish getting ready for next weather event and contemplate the tomorrows.. but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

When Is The Right Time, One Would Ask…. but only if you want to… 🙂

To climb a mountain
To fly a plane,
To hug a friend
To run naked in the rain.

To stand up tall
To make your thoughts known,
To blend with a crowd
To go it alone.

To till the field
To go to war,
To pen a poem of love
To write a musical score.

To take this path
To maybe take the other,
To open ones heart
To share it with another.

Today, tomorrow perhaps?
The answer is in the heart, you see,
So when is the right time, one asks?
When your heart wishes for it to be..

Hello Diary…

Taking a brief break from dealing with life’s challenges and the weather to share a few thoughts… remember the little white rose I mentioned my last visit, Diary?.. Well, here it is “busting loose”… 🙂

white rose 2

And it is joined by the peonies…

peonies

And the little white clover…

clover

All my backyard friends do enjoy them, Mr. Rabbit especially likes the clover.. I do not use chemicals in the yard… it was a pleasant day out when I took the photos so decided to repair the ground feeder…

repairing feeder

It is a nylon cloth used by gardeners to deal with weeds.. any rain will seep through the cloth but will not lose any seeds I scattered for my backyard friends.. earthworms live underneath and feed off any residue…. Sooooooooooo, I get the cloth down and anchored, seeds/feed scattered and Dutch’s Buffet is open for business… 🙂

dutchs buffet

That were in the morning… later in the day I browsed the backyard.. on the north end by the feeder the birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc. took advantage of the invitation… 🙂

birds feeding

In the center of the backyard the pond was alive, the fish had survived the winter and were busy scurrying about feeding and enjoying the day…

pond fish

And on the south end of the backyard I saw the cat family… they are wild, much like their cousins in Africa and other parts of the world, obviously rejected, abandoned and left to their own devices by society because they are different…

Here is the mother cat with three kittens approximately 1-2 months old…

mom and kittens

The father was partially hidden so I had to get a photo from another location, the black arrow points to the father, the red arrow to mom and the kittens…

mom and dad cat

I don’t seem them often and I do not know where they call home, but they are not rejected here because they are different… yes, everyone is different here on the path, allowed to follow their dreams, each having hope their dream will come true… 🙂

A peaceful morning, watching the sun arise
Thoughts abound, while sipping on a spot of tea,
While taking in Nature’s outdoor portrait
Contemplating, on what Fate may have instore for me.

Change is slowly coming, it whispers in the winds
The door is slowly closing on past history,
With a new awakening with the mind and spirit
But the future is still shrouded in mystery.

With the freedom of being different, in many ways
No social shackles do this mortal wear,
Do welcome change with open mind and spirit
No fear, no worry or dread do I bear.

Does change stop at mortal death, one wonders
Or does it go on forever and ever,
Will I ask the same at another time and place

Hello Diary…

Yes, here on the path one is lead by the heart and another is accepted as to who they are and their dream, born free….just like the garden and backyard….

The clematis is starting to make its presence known…

clematis

The clematis is the favorite of many, to grace the gardens with color and charm… then there is the honeysuckle..

honeysuckle

A favorite of my friend, the hummingbird, and sends its fragrance throughout the gardens…

But there is also the little white rose..

white rose

Though not like the roses one sees in all those bouquets, the little rose has beauty and love in its own, and shares that beauty all summer long…

And there is the Butterweed, wild and free, and looks like a little yellow daisy…

butterweed

Many considered the little flower as a weed, but here on the path it is accepted and reminds one of a song of love…

Yes, the world of the path knows harmony and free to follow one’s dream..

In history’s past on the path I had a dream
Of the world in harmony it did seem,
Accepting one as who they believe and are
One’s life’s choices, no one did bar.

Free, to climb a mountain, to touch a star
Free, to search the universe, where answers are,
Free to venture through life, with open eyes and mind
Another creature’s belief, will not blind.

Free to boldly walk the lands, both far and near
All the while following ones dreams, without fear,
Not to be accepted by social ideology, you see
But the love, kindness, knowledge within, of a spirit born free.

Free, for ones humanity to embrace
Not being labeled by belief, gender or race,
Free, for one’s dignity not to be denied
Though there’s many a mortal, who has tried.

Here on the path it’s not a dream, but a reality
To follow ones dream, with a open heart, you see,
Free to love another without fear, as it should be
For here on the path, one is born free.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Well, better close for now… have adventures waiting, dreams to follow and ready to set sails.. But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

I’ll be seeing you..

Roses are red
Violets are blue,
Thoughts from the heart
I’m sending to you.

Not just another day, dear friend
For in spite of time, distance or whatever,
If only in spirit and thought
We’ll be sharing today together.

So, have a wonderful day, dear friend
Wishing you all the best, nothing less,
May today, every day, AND your heart
Be filled……with love and happiness.

A Spirit Born Free…

While dealing with the doldrums
That happen often in wintertime,
And while contemplating my tomorrows
Thought I’d pen some thoughts that rhyme.

As I venture through my life
With each step, all the while being me,
An open mind, a heart of dreams
A spirit, enjoying being free.

A spirit that views another
As another feels, wishes to be,
In a realm of acceptance
So another can enjoy being free.

Free…. to love another
No color, gender or race,
Only to know and feel happiness
No social walls to face.

Free to live life as one chooses
Fallow a dream, the heart would say,
Free to walk ones own path of life
Filled with adventures along the way.

There are those who would color me different
Many to gaze upon me with dismay,
But unlike them, I’ve found happiness
Because I chose to live life my way.

Hello Diary,

It is a Thursday morning and have been busy making changes and working in the gardens bringing the summer to a close till next year.. “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stopped the story.” ( Frank Herbert), winter is on the horizon… 🙂 …. I have been getting the fish pond ready for winter this week… I excavated the pond in 1996 and the pond is approximately 8 feet (2.4 m) by 6 feet (1.8 m) with a depth of 2 feet (0.6 M) to 8 inches (30 CM)…
The pond is occupied by 7 goldfish, approximately 4 inches (10 cm) long and they have been in the pond for approximately 6 years…

pond fish
During the winter they slow their system down, something like hibernation, to survive the winter… of course, I help them to survive… first I put down some netting…

pond

Then I add and additional amount of fish food…

fish food

And finally I cover with a layer of clear plastic sheeting..

pond visqueen

The sheeting helps protect the pond during the winter and also helps warm the water when the sun shines to prevent the pond from freezing… and so I bid my pond friends a fond Adieu and will see them next spring… 🙂

And speaking of preparing for winter, I had better close for now, as there is more to do…but I shall return one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

In history’s past, on the path, I had a dream

A pleasant fall morning on the prairies today, all creatures getting ready for the future… saw the Contrails ( clouds created by engine exhaust) of man and his flying machine chasing one’s destiny…“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. Perhaps Frank has the right idea… 🙂

Hello Diary,

It is a Saturday, a leisurely weekend in the plans for me.. 🙂 speaking of clouds, saw an interesting view today, another indication of change… it is called “Virga” (condensation not making it to the surface)… now in the summer time virga would appear like this (I did not take this photo), like a lace curtain hanging from the cloud… rain not getting to the ground..

virgaonline

With the cooler atmospheric temperatures, today I looked up at the sky and saw this virga…

virga2

Instead if rain (liquid) it was in the form of ice crystals, sometimes referred to as “snow”, soooooooooooooo, I could say I had some snow today, though it never got to the ground, BUT a hint of weather to come, Ole Man Winter is on the horizon… 🙂

There are those taking advantage of the pleasant weather, like the local farmer…

farmer

And there is my little bushy-tailed knucklehead, the squirrel, having breakfast while keeping a close eye on me… 🙂

Yes, today (as every day) is filled with choices and “Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” (Kevyn Aucoin)

CHOICE
I’ll be what I must be, in spite of me
as life won’t always give the things I choose
and so I have to make what has to be
into the things my life and I can use.

All roads don’t lead to Rome, as it’s been said,
but some to Paris, and a little fun,
so I will change the path where I would dread
to go to where I choose, when I am done.

I’ll not be forced into a better scheme
if I can’t see the end result my way
if it’s not part of what my heart can dream
it never will come to the light of day.

All things can change, if I have any voice
in what they are, and I will make the choice.
(Vee Bdosa 2014)

And now I choose to close… and after a busy week, with a spot of tea will relax for a time, contemplating the tomorrows… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin” and the creeks don’t rise..

Saw a single robin, born free, on its way home, wherever destiny sends the robin…

robin

Much like me… 🙂

I know in my bones, I’ve been here before
The ground feels the same, though the land’s been torn
I’ve a long way to go, the stars tell me so
On this road that will take me home

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
And all our troubles will be gone

And I know what I’ve lost, and all that I’ve won
When the road finally takes me home

And when I pass by, don’t lead me astray
Don’t try and stop me, don’t stand in my way
I’m bound for the hills where the cool waters flow
On the road that will take me home

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
And all our troubles will be gone

And I know what I’ve lost and all that I’ve won
When the road finally takes me home
I’m going home, I’m going home, I’m going home

May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your way, May songbirds serenade your every step along the way, May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that’s always blue, And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through (Irish Saying) on the path least traveled…

Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..just letting the heart do the talking while the fingers do the walking while being different, being me… 🙂

While dealing with life’s challenges and change, some days do not go as one hoped.. As John Denver said “some days are diamonds, some days are stone” , and one can get the “blues’… were strolling through memory lane and found a picture of little Bree (she were a Jack Russell and passed away a few years ago) at her favorite place when she has the blues…

But, “I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together”… (Marilyn Monroe)

And the best way to get rid of the blues is with a song in one’s heart.. 🙂

Hello Diary,

It is a Friday evening, the past week is a memory and next week is new adventures.. am taking a brief break from those adventures to share a few thoughts… did have a few storms the last week though not severe..

stormclouds.

But, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”. (Author Unknown).. sooooooooooo, that is what me and Gene Kelly did..well, I didn’t dance, I ran the sweeper while Gene danced… 🙂

Were feeling chipper this morning, were a bit late reading the weather instruments so I dashed outdoors and WHOA!!!….

There were Spidey!!.. Getting more clever every day!.. 🙂 ventured back indoors unscathed and after dealing with the weather data I checked I updated technology and HORRORS, while sharing my WordPress library I missed a book!!…

Frugal Seeds; Summer Edition authored by Charlie Lee Austin (aka simplywendi)….

And later in the day I observed changes taking place here on the path… a view about 200 feet (60 meters) from my front door…

beans and corn

Also observed a Monarch butterfly resting a bit while on its journey to its destiny…

Enough rambling.. The day and life awaits, new adventures to find, all the while being me chasing dreams.. but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Yes, be it the weather, climate, socially, the world, the universe, times they are a changing.. “For time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.” (John F. Kennedy )..

And looking to the future here… “You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last chapter.” (Author Unknown )

“Everyday I have two choices, either to venture into the light, follow one’s dreams and live life, or stay in the shadows, the darkness and never know happiness…” (Larry “Dutch” Woller) on the path least travled….

To become memories.. “Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown)..

As the dawn approaches
One contemplates not the day,
But all the years of memories and thoughts
That one acquired along the way.

Some filled with sadness, sorrow perhaps
Some with happiness, joy and without fear,
Some to bring out the laughter
Some to bring out a tear.

A special day and one to treasure
And not because of the calendar age,
Because the book of memories and thoughts
Will be adding another page!

Even though a distance and time apart
It will be a day that we will share,
Our love and understanding knows no time or distance
Be assured, have no doubt, I will be there!

It will become our memory, and we will share
Today, and every day…… forever,
Because of our free spirit eternal
Beyond…………. the 12th of Never!!
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

But love is ever present and knows no time….

Hello Diary,

It is a pleasant day here on the prairies, with clouds drifting to their destiny….

A quiet day to pause for contemplation in a time of change, as one follows one’s dreams, living one’s life, not someone else’s… “When someone tells you “you’ve changed”, it might be because you have stopped living your life their way”.. (John Pence)

A quiet Tuesday morning, on the path
At the end of it, on the horizon, a lovely rainbow,
It is there my answers lie… the truth is known
Until then, only Fate will know.

A quiet Tuesday morning, spirit and mind at the ready
To seek the rainbow… perhaps around the next bend,
Once found, I’ll have my answers, you see
And that will be the beginning, not the end.
(Penned by Larry “Dutch” Woller )

The air is filled with excitement as summer prepares to take it’s farewell bow for the year… saw a squirrel (in the upper right hand corner) scurrying about preparing for winter while living and enjoying life…

And not all change is outdoors.. as I prepare for fall cleaning made a few changes in one of the rooms and created a den of sorts for meditation, painting/coloring etc and also for Spanish class (haven’t been to school in awhile.. 🙂 )…. “Any piece of knowledge I acquire today has a value at this moment exactly proportioned to my skill to deal with it. Tomorrow, when I know more, I will recall that piece of knowledge and use it better. “ Mark van Doren

And change does not mean the end… “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stopped the story.” (Frank Herbert ).. have a little laptop that I will not be able to use online, makes an excellent stereo in my little den…

stero laptop

Cannot play a CD on the little laptop but I have a multitude so I purchased a small recorder, used the CD player, posted on a flashdrive and downloaded on the little laptop..now I have hours of music in the little den… clever, eh?!.. 🙂

Speaking of recycling, I had a friend, June “Chris” Clark (she passed away in 2014, age 87 and lived in Skendleby, Lincolnshire, UK) who I had the honor of meeting online in the year 2000… we shared poetry and life in our world’s seen through our eyes.. In the fall, she would collect the various leaves, stems, etc of the plants as the plants were dying off and preparing for winter… during the winter, she would gather glue and paper and make nature’s art.. She sent me this picture she made one Christmas..

The picture is 12 inches (304.8 MM) by 14 inches (355.6 MM) and handmade….

Well, I had better close for now.. thought I would share a few thoughts about life and nature’s change here on the path… some new adventures on the horizon… But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

“Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow remains a mystery, today is a new adventure. Greet it with open arms, a open heart, a open mind and a smile. Enjoy it because it won’t come again.” (Larry “Dutch“ Woller )

Yes, the yesterdays have become memories, making way for new memories… Ahhhhhhhhhh, but those were the days, my friend… 🙂
