A Spirit Born Free…

While dealing with the doldrums
That happen often in wintertime,
And while contemplating my tomorrows
Thought I’d pen some thoughts that rhyme.

Free.. as I venture through my life
With each step, all the while being me,
An open mind, a heart of dreams
A spirit, enjoying being free.

A spirit that views another
As another feels, wishes to be,
In a realm of acceptance
So another can enjoy being free.

Free…. to love another
No color, gender or race,
Only to know and feel happiness
No social walls to face.

Free… to live life as one chooses
Fallow a dream, the heart would say,
Free to walk ones own path of life
Filled with adventures along the way.

There are those who would color me different
Many to gaze upon me with dismay,
But unlike them, I’ve found happiness
Free….by choosing to live life my way.

Hello Diary,

Yes, here in America the 4th of July holiday is approaching, a celebration of freedom, but are they really free, one asks?… “The man who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The man who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no man has ever been before.” Francis Phillip Wernig

Here on the path there is freedom as one watches the morning begin….“Every morning your have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams, or wake up and chase them.”

A freedom everyday and it’s…

Not a world of race, color or gender
Nor closed minded ridicule or prejudice… you see,
But a world that respects another’s dream
Of what or who they wish to be.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Free to learn about oneself and life, like Attila as she prepares to leave the nest for the first time..

“Becoming free is learning about yourself; the scared and the insecure, the brilliant and the bold. Embrace both and the journey is yours and yours alone. No longer are you following another’s directions and your path and purpose will present themselves. Only then might you find another wandering soul doing the same thing, who can walk with you but on their own journey. All of a sudden you might find a shared passion and a wrinkled map on the trail that makes sense.” Riitta Klint

Of course there is Spidey, the spider, living life his way in spite of how he is perceived…“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realize how seldom they do”.. (Eleanor Roosevelt)

Free to love another without fear or ridicule… “Love knows no bounds or time, love is the spirit of the heart, love is the life support of hope, love is the force behind compassion, love is the foundation for true friendships, relationships….without love, life is barren and cold and has no meaning”…. Winds of Change…

I watched that heavy door begin to close,
all the while the winds above me rose.
The years whisper and whistle back into my ear,
the memories haunted by sorrows and fear.

With a new day it finally dawned on me,
the past needed locking and I had the key.
Leave it behind, leap and fly away free,
let the winds of change blow and carry me.

Feel them lifting my wings now able to soar,
up to an open sky and caged no more.
Flying so fast to where no hurt can find,
a place of peace now inhabits my mind.

This heart full of courage never ceases to beat,
knowing my history is not destined to repeat.
Clear paths now lead me to a new destination,
for my life, my future and the next generation.
(Kelly Deschler 3/26/2016)

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson

Well, I had better close.. Use that freedom to follow my dreams, seek out adventure that may lie ahead around the next bend on the path…but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Free to follow ones dreams, ones destiny
Being led by a open heart, you see
Free to love another without fear
To cherish and embrace those one holds dear,
Free to be who one wishes to be
For here on the path one is born free.

It were a quiet Thursday morning I woke up to…

a quiet morning

A Quiet Morning…

A quiet morning to wake up to
Sitting, gazing out, with a spot of tea,
Contemplating my tomorrows
Wondering, what will the future be.

A quiet morning, a open mind
Thinking about the path, its mysteries many fold,
Each to explore and treasure
Soon a treasured memory to behold.

A quiet morning, a open heart
Another day to learn and explore about me.
It is my life.. only get one chance
Will have to do it my way.. don’t you see.

A quiet morning, being different
Reminding me of words from a song,
Where do I fit in, one asks
One wonders, where do I belong.

A quiet morning, on the path
At the end of it, on the horizon, a lovely rainbow,
It is there my answers lie… the truth is known
Until then, only Fate will know.

A quiet morning, spirit and mind at the ready
To seek the rainbow… perhaps around the next bend,
Once found, I’ll have my answers, you see
And that will be the beginning, not the end.

Hello Diary,

Have been a busy week, dealing with the weather while following dreams, chores, working on projects and preparing for the coming heat wave starting tomorrow, Friday, through the weekend… but, will not raise the “white flag” “If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can’t, you’re right” (Mary Kay Ash) ….. 🙂

me with floppy hat

Flowerdy floppy hat, check!… working glasses, check!… working gloves, check!.. Banana
Boat sunscreen, check!.. sunshine, check!.. HI HO HI HO it’s out to the gardens we go!.. 🙂

Weeder’s Thoughts…..

I have raked the soil and planted the seeds
Now I’ve joined the army that fights the weeds.
For me no flashing saber and sword,
To battle the swiftly marching horde;

With a valiant heart I fight the foe,
My only weapon a trusty hoe.
No martial music to swing me along,
I march to the robin redbreast song.

No stirring anthem of bugle and drum
But the cricket’s chirp and the honey bee’s hum.
No anti-aircraft or siren yell
But there’s Trumpet-creeper and Lily-bell.

With a loving heart and a sturdy hand,
I defend the borders of flower-land;
While high over Larkspur and Leopardsbane,
A butterfly pilots his tiny plane;

But I shall not fear his skillful hand,
My enemy charges only by land.
Would those who lead nations in war and hate
But lay down their guns at some garden gate,
There, bury- their bombs and their bloody deeds,
And join the grand army that’s fighting the weeds.
(Alma B. Eymann )

Diary, the last time I visited I posted some photos of a spider web taken recently.. here are two photos I took last year of spider webs… these are not, repeat NOT, Halloween decorations.. 🙂 .. The first is a web from house to auto… roughly measuring 6 feet (1.8m) in diameter..

As far as the heat wave is concerned, have a bottle of wine and my entire library (1000+ books) downloaded on the Kindle Fire…mystery, romance… wine and fire, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… 🙂

Well, I had better close for now… finish up a few things and then ready for the heat, not to mention dreams, rainbows and whatever else lies around the next bend on the path… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….

Until we meet again;

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you
In the palm of his hand..
(Irish Saying)

Goodnight, goodnight, until we meet again
Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn ’til then
And though it’s always sweet sorrow to part
You know you’ll always remain in my heart
Goodnight, sleep tight, and pleasant dreams to you
Here’s a wish and a prayer that every dream comes true
And now ’til we meet again
Adios, Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehn
GOOD NIGHT

Dreams..
There’s a place where I go that no one else knows,
Where mysteries abound and excitement grows.
A place out of reach of any man’s hands,
Safely secluded in a far away land

Beyond the grasp of those who may plunder
The wealth of its power and its life changing wonder.
I go alone to my secret place, never leaving a trace
For someone to follow and discover my space

Where I keep my secrets, my fears, and my regrets
Away from the world and all of its threats.
It’s mine and mine alone!
The only place I can call my own.

I treasure the moments spent in this realm
Where anything is possible and I’m at the helm.
This place I describe is all that it seems …
It’s a magical place I call my dreams.

Hello Diary,

And such it is in the not so secret gardens.. 🙂

A Not So Secret Garden

I live in a not so secret garden
Along the path least traveled,
Quite unlike the other world
A world that has become unraveled.

A garden of peace and harmony
Being different does not matter here,
All creatures, big and small, living together
Unlike the other world, they do not live in fear.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
Not sure, or dwell, on our final destiny,
But live to enjoy the moment, the hour, the day
That is what life is about, don’t you see.

So into the not so secret garden I will venture
Along the path least traveled,
To find love, understanding, to follow one’s dreams
Unlike the other world unraveled.

I had better close for now, prepare for what the future may hold, check out a few dreams and chase some rainbows…but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Here on the path it is a wonderful world because there is always hope…
HOPE IS

Hope is a feather floating in a bright blue sky
Hope is that sparkle that shines in your eyes.
Hope is a butterfly fluttering on the wind
Hope is good times spent with family and friends.

Hope is a newborn baby’s cry
Hope is a Mother’s lullaby.
Hope is the rainbow after a rain
Hope is the harvest of golden grain.

Hope is the light that keeps darkness at bay
Hope is the breeze on a hot summer day.
Hope is ever present and free of cost
Hope is the last thing ever lost.

Hope is staying positive when the going gets tough
Hope is seeking help when you feel you’ve had enough.
Hope is recovery from simmering sorrow
Hope is believing in a brighter tomorrow.

Woke up this morning on the green side of the grass (not under it) a free spirit with a open heart.. 🙂

me orange shirt with hat

Just Color Me A Free Spirit….

I’m just a free spirit
Open mind and heart is all I’ll ever be,
Don’t need much money
Being rich is not for me.

I have a pocket full of dreams
My fate, has yet to be told,
As I sail from safe harbor
While watching my destiny unfold.

I am not in a “box”
No social chains, you’ll see,
As down the path least traveled
Adventure waits for me.

Not interested in a “image”
Reality is my forte,
I am who I am, leaving no stone unturned
Exploring life each and every day.

Waking up to a world born free
With creatures in their daily rush,
Pursuing their own destinies
Before sunset brings, the evening hush.

The morning air smells clean and fresh
As I awake, it always brings a smile,
Can hear the sound of a distant train
That will travel many a mile.

Yes…just color me a free spirit
For most social graces I do not fit it seems,
No matter, as I choose happiness over ideology
Guided by my heart, as I follow my dreams.

Hello Diary,

Yes, woke up this Tuesday morning on the green side of the grass to enjoy the day, and life… more storms on the horizon for tomorrow… but neither “fears, nor rain, nor sleet, or gloom of night will stop any adventures.. 🙂 “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” (Roy T. Bennett) … thought it might be best to share a few thoughts…

Pleasant weather this morning, ventured out before sunrise to check the weather instruments (as I do every morning no matter the weather) and guess what, Spidey, the spider, is baaaaaaaaaaack!…

spidey 1 - Copy

Fortunately I had my flashlight with me so I didn’t venture into the web… here is another photo without the light….

spidey 2

Yes, Spidey has the ambush set up for a unsuspecting creature trap..

“Will you walk into my parlour, said a Spider to a Fly;
‘Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to shew when you get there.
Oh, no, no! said the little Fly; to ask me is in vain:
For who goes up that winding stair shall ne’er come down again.
(Mary Howitt )

Of course, in the daytime Spidey takes the web down…

spidy 3 web gone

Sooooooooooo, no one knows where Spidey is at, hiding in his glen, to come back another day… 🙂

As I browsed the news as of late, I cannot help but wonder about a element of world society and their obsession (belief) about obtaining wealth, sometimes at all costs.. I suppose that is a part of being closed minded… “I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief” (Gerry Spence)… as for me, I am far wealthier than they can ever hope to be.. 🙂

I’m far richer than the rich
Wealthier than the wealthy by far,
I have gold in the sun
I have silver in the star.

I have dreams that I follow
That are more precious than gold,
As I venture through life
Eagerly watching, the dreams unfold.

I have diamonds, too many to count
With each new fallen snow,
As I see each one sparkle
While basking in the suns glow.

The mornings bring nature’s painting
Priceless, a portrait of the sky,
Impossible to duplicate
Even though many did try.

Each bloom of the red rose
A ruby, one of a kind,
With the bloom of the white rose
A pearl comes to mind.

Money have I little
But wealth I have got,
But I don’t fit in with
The wealthy and rich lot.

But I’m not going to change
A wealthy dreamer I’ll stay,
Until the rivers, they all run dry
Until the four winds, they all blow away.

(Larry “Dutch” Woller )

Well, I had better close for now.. will be eagerly awaiting to vision what dreams have instore this evening, will usually have two choices; venture into the light and live and enjoy life or stay in the shadows, the darkness and never know true happiness, the choice is clear.. 🙂 but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Not sure what awaits me at the “finish line of life” “ I am currently attending the School of Life, learning more about the universe and me… and Graduation Day will be the day of my funeral and it is then I will know if I failed or I succeeded and graduated”… (Larry “Dutch” Woller).. but the journey will be done my way.. 🙂

This weekend is Father’s Day weekend and wonder how many father’s have found themselves in this situation… 🙂

On our little girls third birthday,
She got a sandbox, In the backyard to play.
Sand was everywhere as she play and she laughed.
I fussed at her, For it killed all the grass.

Chorus; It’ll come back, It’ll come back
Daddy don’t be mad, God and the rain will bring it back.

When our little girl, Just turned ten,
She got a bike to ride with all her friends.
She skinned both her knees, as she played and she laughed.
I fussed at her. For it killed all the grass.

Chorus;

When our little girl, Turned seventeen.
We built her a pool, In the backyard that spring.
All her friends came and they swam and they splashed.
I fussed at her, For it killed all the grass.

Chorus;

My wife and I sit on the porch alone.
As I look out across at my beautiful lawn
The house is quiet, There’s no children at play.
And I say to my wife.
“Honey If you’ll listen real close, You can still hear her say…”

Chorus;
Hello Diary,

It is a Friday, so far a pleasant day but there are storms again on the horizon for the next few days… taking time from preparing for the future to leave a few thoughts (may not be able to get online much this weekend)… sitting here with a spot of tea with Father’s Day on the horizon and thinking about all the children.. as with the way of all creatures, at some point in time they leave the nest… :

Unfortunately, for reasons us mere mortals cannot comprehend, some leave the nest far too soon…
The little toy dog is covered with dust,
But sturdy and stanch he stands;
And the little toy soldier is red with rust,
And his musket molds in his hands.
Time was when the little toy dog was new
And the soldier was passing fair,
And that was the time when our Little Boy Blue
Kissed them and put them there.

“Now, don’t you go till I come,” he said,
“And don’t you make any noise!”
So toddling off to his trundle-bed
He dreamed of the pretty toys.
And as he was dreaming, an angels song
Awakened our Little Boy Blue,–
Oh, the years are many, the years are long,
But the little toy friends are true.

Ay, faithful to Little Boy Blue they stand,
Each in the same old place,
Awaiting the touch of a little hand,
The smile of a little face.
And they wonder, as waiting these long years through,
In the dust of that little chair,
What has become of our Little Boy Blue
Since he kissed them and put them there.
(Eugene Field)

And at some point in time some grow their wings and fly away to follow their destiny..

Little folks are people too
Very much like me and you
The little things they say and do
They kinda make your day
Foolishness and common sense
Through the eyes of innocence
Skip a rope or jump a fence
Gettin’ in the way

Daddy, why are you so tall?
Daddy, why am I so small?
Daddy, who makes snowflakes fall?
Could it be the Lord?
Chasing puppies, climbin’ trees
Bumping heads and skinnin’ knees
It’s not very hard to see
That kids are God’s reward

Little folks get down and out
The girls will cry and boys will pout
Before you know what it’s about
They’re smiling once again
Colored kites on summer breeze
Jingle Bells and Christmas trees
Too soon they’re only memories
Do you remember when?

Daddy, what makes eagles fly?
What makes clouds float in the sky?
And Daddy, if I really try
Will I grow up someday?

But little folks slip through our hands
Like so many grains of sand
You’d best enjoy them while you can
So soon they fly away…

And there are some that do not have a father (or mother) and as a sustaining guardian of the Cunningham Children’s home, hopefully I can give them some hope that they will realize their dreams on this Father’ Day (and every day).. “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.” Emily Dickinson

Well, I had better close for now.. Have my own dreams to follow…“All one can do is know happiness by following ones dreams, being led by one’s heart, and it is up to the rest of the world to accept or not” but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

In spite of the storms, me and the rest of the children (along with the poets, dreamers and lovers) will be looking for that rainbow connection and the path to our destiny… 🙂

If “different” is just a thing.
If we all have certain features,
What does “different” bring?

People filled with hatred,
Can’t possibly see,
That there’s not really “differences”
Between you and me.

Looks can’t show “difference”,
If they’re just there to be seen.
If you don’t look like someone else,
Why are they so mean?

If being “different” is what is wrong,
I’d rather not be right.
And I’d want to finish living,
Doing the “different” fight.

Hello Diary,

So far have managed to avoid the severe weather…there are more storms on the horizon, mainly this weekend so I thought I would share some thoughts today.. “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”.

In spite of the weather, the flowers in the gardens and backyard are starting to make their presence known… spreading beauty, fragrance and love… a white rose “a new beginning”…

“You don’t love the person you can live with, you love the person you cannot live without”…

And of course the red rose… the symbol of love among the roses..

“True love doesn’t happen right away; it’s an ever-growing process. It develops after you’ve gone through many ups and downs, when you’ve suffered together, cried together, laughed together, loved together.” (Ricardo Montalban)..

Of course, other flowers a associated with love also, even the pond flowers..

“Just because you feel someone does not love you as much as they should, does not mean they don’t give you all the love they have”..

And there is the purple clematis….

And there is the pink clematis…

Soooooooo, from the gardens of the path least traveled, a bouquet of love..

A bouquet of flowers from my garden,
Their beauty need not be told,
Their fragrance is soothing and lovely
A pleasant scent for one to behold.

They remind me of you, my dear friend
Whose beauty from within you do share,
Sharing sunshine, understanding and laughter
Sowing the seeds of love and happiness in the air.

This bouquet was picked for you
For coming into my world, my dear friend,
For giving sunshine, laughter, love and happiness
For which I know will never end.

Well, I had better close now…. Life is calling, or is it the lawn mower?.. 🙂 but I shall return again one day, fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

“Love knows no bounds or time, love is the spirit of the heart, love is the life support of hope, love is the force behind compassion, love is the foundation for true friendships, relationships….without love, life is barren and cold and has no meaning”…. (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Journey of Self Discovery…

I awoke one morning, alone, in history’s past..
Left with a heart full of memories, a decision to make,
Confronted with two paths to my destiny..
Heart and mind to decide which one to take.

Take the one most traveled, the logical safe choice…
The one chosen by the multitudes..the human race,
Like sheep, following a path determined by another…
No self identity, all bearing the same face.

A path whose direction is chosen by a few
The rest to follow, ever so blind,
Their destiny not chosen by their own hand
Their fate determined, by a closed mind.

The other path less traveled, mysterious and unknown
Where one can be different, like me I confess,
Without fear of ridicule, bigotry  and hate
A path filled with love… and happiness.

A path where one can follow ones dreams
An open mind to see what others do not,
To live a life guided by one’s heart
While the other path one cannot.

Decision made, with eyes on the horizon
It’s down the path least traveled I do venture,
Excitement fills the air, a smile on the face
Looking forward to a great adventure.

My fate will be unknown, what lies ahead unsure
I do not know…. what my destiny will be,
But one thing will be certain, written in stone
I shall venture down that path …..learning to be “ME“.

Hello Diary,

After a time of dealing with life’s challenges, sometimes one needs to stop the world and get off briefly to set the spirit free.. One way is meditation and another way is to relax with a glass of wine or cuppa tea..

winetea

Turn on some easy listening music..

easy listening

And let the spirit go free to either follow my thoughts..

So my heart’s compass is pointed to the horizon
Sails set full, safe harbor fading in the distance, a faint glow to eye it seems
And with a pocket full of memories, on the horizon are my dreams
On down the path least traveled I will venture, with spirit free
Why the path least traveled?..well, I’m different, don’t you see.

Mark Twains thoughts…

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover, acquire new friends and gain knowledge of yourself and the world.” (Samual Clemens aka Mark Twain)

Or Enya’s thoughts…

However, unfortunately today is not the day for sailing… with the onset of summer there are maintenance tasks to do outdoors as well as indoors adding more challenges to life, and add daily chances of thunderstorms to the mix and “When one suddenly finds oneself in a swamp up to one’s armpits in alligators, it is difficult to remember the objective was to drain the swamp”.. 🙂

First there is mowing…

mower

And there is the vacuum …

cleaning

Both require a certain amount of physical activity to function.. I know the medical profession believes everyone should be active but a mower and vacuum could be overkill.. 🙂 I had considered asking the teenage boy next door if he would do it but he uses Alexa and Alexa does not do lawns or windows… 😀

And then I happen to come across this interesting device…

dustmbrrom

I have misplaced the owners manual so I have no idea how to use it… 😀 I suppose I could Goggle it.. “Any piece of knowledge I acquire today has a value at this moment exactly proportioned to my skill to deal with it. Tomorrow, when I know more, I will recall that piece of knowledge and use it better. “ Mark van Doren .. 🙂

And then there is this unique invention called the washing machine…

washing machine

It has more controls than a space shuttle.. how difficult is it to wash a load of underwear, really!?.. “The saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom”. (Isaac Asimov).. 🙂

Well, I had better close for now… got out the ole two headed coin and will toss to see if I mow or chase rainbows… 😀 but, I shall return again one day, fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor gloom of night, here on the path I have a dream to see me through it all… 🙂

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” – (Michel Angelo) on the path least traveled…

Journey of Self Discovery…

Life Is Now….

Time flies, and memories fade.
People change and new friendships are made.
Only the true remain forever at our side.
Eventually the disappointment and pain will subside.

It is all about the journey and what has yet to come.
Life is what you make of it; you are what you’ve become.
Life is too short to hold onto regrets.
Forgiveness is key even though you may never forget.

Cherish the good and remove the bad.
Some people don’t realize till it’s gone what they’ve had.
Moving on is a way of life.
There will always be obstacles, pain, and strife.

You must believe that you are strong enough to fight.
You have to believe in yourself to do what is right.
Always do for YOU no matter what you do,
Because in the end the only one who has your back is you.

Never be afraid to take a stand,
And always be willing to lend a helping hand.
A little bit goes a long way.
All it takes is a smile to brighten someone’s day.

Your chance to live is now, so what are you waiting for?
The world is yours for the taking and so much more.
Endless possibilities are forever at your disposal.
The chance to live another day is life’s golden proposal.

Never let anyone tear you down,
And never let anyone steal your shine and make you frown.
So will you sit in the shadows and let darkness win again?
Or will you rise up and make the light your friend?
(Hollianne Boucher)

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others;
For beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness,
And for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
( Audrey Hepburn )

Hello Diary,

It is a pleasant Saturday afternoon with a gentle breeze at the moment…

sat aftern

The backyard residents going about their daily quest for their destinies, scurrying around leaving no stone unturned… “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming; “Wow! What a ride!” (Hunter S. Thompson).. 🙂

Perhaps the reason they are scurrying around is instinctively they know there are storm clouds on the horizon for later today and tonight… 🙂

severe weather

But here on the path “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.” (Louisa May Alcott) and “A home that is built with patience, understanding and love will withstand the strongest winds of difficulties and conflict , a home built with a closed mind, insincerity and haste will collapse in a mere breeze of discontent.” (Larry “Dutch” Woller ).. 🙂

Spent part of the morning getting prepared for possible house cleaning and dusting next week…

cleaning

As I sat there and looked at the sweepers, a poem by Rose Milligan came to mind..

Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
to paint a picture, or write a letter,
bake a cake, or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.

Dust if you must, but there is not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear, and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world’s out there
with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
this day will not come round again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go, and go you must,
you, yourself, will make more dust!

(Rose Milligan)

Sighhhhhhhhhhh.. 🙂 Well, taking her advise I am going to close for now, trying to decide when the time is right…

To climb a mountain
To fly a plane,
To hug a friend
To run naked in the rain.

To stand up tall
To make your thoughts known,
To blend with a crowd
To go it alone.

To till the field
To go to war,
To pen a poem of love
To write a musical score.

To take this path
To maybe take the other,
To open ones heart
To share it with another.

Today, tomorrow perhaps?
The answer is in the heart, you see,
So when is the right time, one asks?
When your heart wishes for it to be..

( Larry “Dutch” Woller ).

But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

So tell me , fate
You hold the key,
What is my destiny
Suppose to be?

Can no longer build cities
The back is tired and sore,
I was a soldier once
No longer have the heart for war.

I’ve tilled the soil as a farmer
Fed the world is what they say,
But I see the faces of hunger
Still this very day.

I’ve donated time and money
Ask for nothing in return,
I see nothing has changed
Will they ever learn?

I’ve tilled the fields and went to war
Built cities and bridges and much more,
Has my destiny run it’s course
Fate, is there any more?

So tell me, fate
You hold the key,
What is my destiny
Suppose to be?
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Like all else, I fear the answer is blowing in the wind…. 🙂
