Hello Diary…

The new year has arrived and together we can make this a better world, a world where everyone can follow their dream in peace and love and without fear and have a wonderful ending…  🙂

Have been enjoying every day, as each day is one of a kind, unique (like people, creatures, etc) and will not come again.. have not ignored and turned my back on others who are struggling to follow their dreams “No matter the pain or suffering, it is always better if it’s a burden shared by two, instead of a weight carried by one alone”… (Larry “Dutch” Woller)…..  🙂

Just stopping in briefly to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and may each and every day be filled with peace, love and happiness and life is all that you wish for it to be!..  🙂

The new year has arrived
As I contemplate the tomorrow,
Leaving some memories filled with happiness
A few memories filled with sorrow.

I peer out my window
At a winter world cold and bleak,
A world of conflict, anger and hate
Mortals are suffering as I speak.

But we have a dream
My friends and I,
That one day there will be peace
No more mortals will die.

And there is hope
Of a world filled with love one day,
A wish that could come true
For hope is the last to die…they say.

Not a world of race, color or gender
Nor closed minded ideology...you see,
But a world that respects another’s dream
Of what or who they wish to be.

To be free to boldly walk the lands, both far and near
To lives one’s life without suffering or fear,
Not to be accepted by belief, gender or race, you see
But by the love, understanding and knowledge of a spirit born free.

So I peer out the window
Not with sadness or fear,
But a heart filled with a dream
That everyone has a wonderful and Happy New Year.
                         (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

And no matter what challenges life may bring, we will face it together a old friends do.. And hold fast to your dream because “The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible.” –(Joel Brown)… 🙂
Going to close for now, the day, the new year and life, is calling… but I shall return one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Until we meet again, today and every day in the new year.. 🙂

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.
     (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Hello Diary,

Thought I would stop by briefly as I had not planned on the visit but with today’s life’s challenges being what they are, thought I would share some cheer..  in spite of how gloomy and bleak life may seem, if one follows one’s heart, one can make the day your day,  bright and cherry and what one wishes for it to be…  🙂

Sooooo, from the path least traveled, no matter who you are, where you are or what you believe, may it be the mostest merry and bright day ever, filled with love and happiness… 🙂

It is suppose to be the season of giving, and no matter the circumstances, there are two gifts that anyone can give, from the heart, not only on this holiday but every day… one is the gift of love… 🙂

The gift of love
A world of love that is without end
Through an eternity it will endure,
A love that knows no boundaries
A love beautiful, caring and pure.

The other gift is the gift of hope.. 🙂

The gift of hope
Where children could follow their own dream, you see
Not to be denied by another’s ideology,
To follow the destiny of their own choice
Not to be hindered by another’s voice.

Especially for the children and youngsters.. 🙂
Well, I had better close, check out some presents that life has given me… I will see you next year, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise.. 🙂

My gift for you, today and every day…

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.

Christmas day is on the horizon, a just another day in the week for some, for some a holiday, for some a religious observance, for myself a “Me” day, following my heart and living it my way… 🙂

It is suppose to be a day of cheer and giving, of peace on earth and goodwill towards man and whatever one believes, perhaps if we join together in peace and love, it will be a Merry Christmas indeed!..  🙂

Hello Diary,

May pop in on occasion to see how everyone is faring, but I am going to stop the world for a bit and take a couple of weeks off, will return shortly after New Years…  Kindle at the ready, holiday movies to see, poetry to write, perhaps be a rainbow in someone’s cloud who’s holiday may not be merry and bright…  🙂

Though it may seem I am alone, the spirit is present and a heart and home filled with memories, so it will be a happy holiday here on the path…  🙂

Have my wine at the ready… 🙂

And have the tree at the ready for ole Santa.. 🙂

And speaking of memories, I grew up on a farm in the 1940’s, 1950’s and early 1960’s and the home were a old two story with minimum insulation and the curtains moved when the wind blew.. My brother and I bedroom were directly above Mom and Dad’s bedroom… we had model train track all over the floor and sometimes would send messages back and forth as we were suppose to be asleep… I remember one Christmas.. 🙂

It’s twelve days till Christmas
And as I look around,
Checked every package under the tree
No toys for me were found.

But I’m not one bit worried
The sadness it won’t last,
Because I have some memories
Of many of Christmas past.

One Christmas eve in particular
For the night my brother and I retired,
It wasn’t long into the night
The imagination was fired.

We had train track all over the floor
Much to Mom’s dismay,
All night long messages back and forth
Wondering about Christmas day.

But in a blink of an eye
All got quiet real quick,
There was a shadow in our door
And it definitely wasn’t ST. Nick!

It’s Christmas morning….wait there’s a honk
And I looked out the window to see,
It was just my neighbor in his car
Bringing me back to reality.

But that’s ok, I haven’t grown old
And I’m not even going to start,
I’ll be forever young, don’t you see
With Christmas in my heart.

So to all.. and to all
As I get into my sleigh,
WAIT, I can’t say goodnight
It’s the middle of the day!
( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

We didn’t get much for Christmas, a toy, a pair of socks, gloves, etc…that were before computers and smart phones and dealing with two wars (WWII and Korean Conflict), but the day were filled with cheer and each gift were given and received with love..  🙂

And whether it is a holiday or just another day, the day (and every day) is unique and special because all of  you are a part of it, and hope it is a holly jolly one..  🙂

Well, I had better close for now… I shall return next year after the holiday and tell you all about the presents I did not get…. Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…  🙂

Again, whether it is just another day or a holiday, hope the day (and every day) is filled with love and happiness and life is all that you wish for it to be, “The best and most beautiful things in the world  cannot be seen or even touched– they must be felt with the heart.” (Helen Keller)..

Until we meet again… 🙂

Tis rain and fog, not a snowflake in sight
Looks more like Christmas in Hawaii, and this I fear,
With the weather forecast in hand
May not be a white Christmas this year!

The tree is trimmed, not as many lights this year
The presents are fewer, but tis the thought that counts,
Maybe not as plentiful, but food is prepared
As Christmas draws near and excitement mounts!

The spirit is in the air, the weather not to matter
And I am caught up in the spirit, I must confess,
So white or no, Merry Christmas to ALL!
And may the day, and all your presents, be filled…. with love and happiness!!

Hello Diary…

Tis the season of giving they say (although I give year around), so with chores and projects taken care of, with a glass of wine I sat down with pen in hand, first for family and friends…  🙂

Then I started thinking of those who are having difficulties while trying to follow their dreams… the gift may  seem small   “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” ( Mother Teresa) but along with the gift is the gift of hope  “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.” (Emily Dickinson)..  so I sat down and gave what I could, here are a few… 🙂

The kids at the Cunningham Childrens home…. check… 🙂

The hungry… check.. 🙂

The youngsters who are struggling while trying to gather knowledge to make the world a better place.. . Check.. 🙂

For cancer research (my wife Kathy lost the battle to cancer (but won the war) in 2015).. check… 🙂

And for those who could use a helping hand while trying to deal with life’s challenge, the Salvation Army.. check… 🙂

And gifts that must be felt with the heart… 🙂

The gift of hope
Where children could follow their own dream, you see
Not to be denied by another’s ideology,
To follow the destiny of their own choice
Not to be hindered by another’s voice.

The gift of understanding
Not a world of race, color or gender
Nor closed minded ridicule or prejudice...you see,
But a world that respects another’s dream
And of what or who they wish to be.

The gift of freedom
One is free to boldly walk the lands, both far and near
To lives one’s life without suffering or fear,
Not to be accepted by belief, gender or race, you see
But by the love, understanding and knowledge of a spirit born free.

The gift of happiness
Not a world of sorrow or fear
But a world of hope and dreams, not sadness
A world of eternal love and peace
A world of eternal happiness.

The gift of love
A world of love that is without end
Through an eternity it will endure,
A love that knows no boundaries
A love beautiful, caring and pure.

When troubles are many and it may seem that all is lost, my gift to you… 🙂
Well, I had better close for now… life is calling and more giving is needed… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Be it a holiday or just another day in the week, hope it is a wonderful day and until we meet again…

May your spirit only know peace
May your heart only know love
May all your dreams come true
May your life’s journey be filled with happiness
And life is all that you wish for it to be….
                       (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

And you will never walk alone… 🙂

Hello Diary,

Yes, there are changes here on the path in many forms and the one change has been falling  leaves… last month ole Jack Frost stopped by and gave notice that ole Man Winter were not far behind… since then the backyard as starting preparing for winter and the trees, have started the process of preparing for winter slumber…. soooooooooooooo, last week I have been busy with the leaves…  🙂

I do not burn leaves or send the leaves to a landfill, I have a compost bin in the backyard where I store the leaves.. good for the environment, the residents of the backyard use the leaves and in time the leaves decompose and return elements to the soil, a win for everyone… 🙂

I also use the leaves for mulch as the leaves are natural and backyard residents use the leaves to store food and winter protection… 🙂

I am not the only one dealing with change… 🙂

I set here with my tea
And watch the leaves a fallin’
It’s becoming clear that one day
Jack Frost will come a callin’

Most of my bird friends have went south
In the southern warmth they’ll stay
But I’ll not shed a tear in sorrow
For they’ll be back again some day

All us creatures that are staying behind
To deal with the cold and snow
Are getting our house in order
And waiting for winter’s blow

The squirrels are gathering leaves and such
To insulate their winters nest
The possum is checking every nook and cranny
To find a place for his winters rest

The bee’s are picking up the pace
Gathering nectar with the morning sun
Storing winter food for the hive
Before their work on earth is done

A spider spinning it’s web of silk
I watched as it grew and grew
Soon to become natures work of art
With tomorrow’s early morning dew

This poem could go on and on and on
But alas, I have things to do
For, like it or not, don’t you see
I need to get ready for winter too.
    (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

And there are times when change can be personal… “There are things that we may not want to happen but have to accept, things we may not want to know but have to learn and people we cannot live without but have to let go ” (Author Unknown)… 🙂
Well, I had better close for now… going to put change on hold briefly and relax a bit with a cup of Earl Grey, contemplate my tomorrows and what the tomorrows may bring… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Hope all is well in your part of the universe and until we meet again…

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.
     (Larry “Dutch” Woller)
