Hello Diary,

It’s a Monday morning, a start of a new week and a cold, rainy week it is to be they say… have indoor projects, Spanish lessons, meditation, Tai-Chi and other activities too numerous to mention, so no boring days here… if you recall, Dairy, in history’s past I mentioned the last rose of summer, well over the weekend I found another….

last rose 2

The little rose not giving up yet… 🙂 also over the weekend, I prepared this weeks meals and put in freezer..

next weeks mealx

Have today’s and Tuesday meal out to put in refrigerator… also over the weekend I worked on acrylic finger nails….

finger nail 1

I put a coat of polish over part of the nail to imitate a real finger nail and when done the finished product looks like this..

finger nail 2

Now, I am sure there will be those that will raise a eyebrow about this but I am not concerned..
“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realize how seldom they do”.. Eleanor Roosevelt

They are my fingers and I do what I need to do..those fragile, brittle nails growing underneath are protected from the elements… 🙂

He’s an old hippie
Don’t fit in with the old
Too old for the new,
Not trying to make a fuss
Just trying to adjust.
(Bellamy Brothers)

Just living life and enjoying adventures while being oneself and doing it my way in a world that seems to be more and more closed minded and self-gratifying..Yes, just like Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others, just following ones dreams on the path least traveled..

“The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone, is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been.” Albert Einstein

A Dream On The Path Least Traveled..
It is down the path least traveled I do go
To a rainbow filled horizon I venture,
To seek, to learn, know peace, to enjoy life
A dream filled with wonderful adventure.

A place where one is accepted as who they are
A spirit kindled to life, when mortal born,
A being, coming from the depths within themselves
And not subject to ridicule and scorn.

A place where I know freedom of thought and being
I am what I am, don’t you see,
Neither this one, neither that one, but all the above
In a mortal world, a free spirit, that’s me.

I do not travel the path alone, you see
There are memories and spirits to behold,
Spirits that share… the joy and sadness
As I gather more memories, down that least traveled road.

So how long will my journey be, one would ask
Will I see the end of the path…ever?
The answer, I believe, lies on the horizon
Somewhere past… the 12th of Never….

So shall bring my ramblings to an end
For there is one fact that I do know,
To reach the horizon, the 12th of Never
It’s down the path least traveled I must go!
(penned by Larry “Dutch” Woller )

And speaking of following dreams, I had better close for now and do exactly that, also have some chores to do, all part of life on the path least traveled… 🙂 but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….

Even us born again heathens can have a dream… 🙂

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy to help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream
I’ll cross the stream, I have a dream

When Is The Right Time, One Would Ask….

To climb a mountain
To fly a plane,
To hug a friend
To run naked in the rain.

To stand up tall
To make your thoughts known,
To blend with a crowd
To go it alone.

To till the field
To go to war,
To pen a poem of love
To write a musical score.

To take this path
To maybe take the other,
To open ones heart
To share it with another.

Today, tomorrow perhaps?
The answer is in the heart, you see,
So when is the right time, one asks?
When your heart wishes for it to be..

Hello Diary,

A somewhat gloomy fall day weather wise, near the end of the week and a rainy weekend in the cards.. BUT, here on the path we have our dreams to see us through… 🙂

“There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.” Douglas H.Everett..

Thought I would take time in the days activities to drop in and leave a few thoughts… if you remember the last time I visited, Diary, I were talking about a pot of vegetable soup… well, it is done and bagged…

bagged veggie soup

Seven servings and now in the freezer, will taste good when Ole Man Winter comes calling… I also made some English muffins for breakfast…

english mufins

Use some bacon bits, butter, Philadelphia cheese spread, shredded cheese, I put each one in a bag and in the freezer… then on these gloomy mornings a breakfast of English muffin, apple/cinnamon oatmeal, peaches and some cranberry/apple juice warms the tummy… 🙂

breakfast

Leaving food and the weather for a time, I have been ask for my thoughts on what a “friend” is… well, I believe that Adam Clarke says it best ( I have posted it before, will post again)… 🙂

“Portrait of a Friend”

I can’t give solutions to all of life’s problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.

I can’t change your past with all it’s heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can’t keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can’t prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only think of you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can’t give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.

I can’t keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.

I can’t tell you who you are or who you will be
I can only love you and be your friend
(Adam Clarke)

“Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself – and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That’s what real love amounts to – letting a person be what he/she really is.” Jim Morrison

Also a hot topic today are the plights of the immigrants/refugees who are trying to leave suffering and conflict in order to realize their dreams… suffering and conflict often caused by the very people who demonize, ridicule those unfortunate people… not so here on the path least traveled…

refugees

“When we begin to build walls of prejudice, hatred, pride, and self-indulgence around ourselves, we are more surely imprisoned than any prisoner behind concrete walls and iron bars.” Mother Angelica

Some more of my thoughts on the issue…

A Not So Secret Garden

I live in a not so secret garden
Along the path least traveled,
Quite unlike the other world
A world that has become unraveled.

A garden of peace and harmony
Being different does not matter here,
All creatures, big and small, living together
Unlike the other world, they do not live in fear.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
Not sure, or dwell, on our final destiny,
But live to enjoy the moment, the hour, the day
That is what life is about, don’t you see.

So into the not so secret garden I will venture
Along the path least traveled,
To find love, understanding, to follow one’s dreams
Unlike the other world unraveled.

(Larry “Dutch” Woller )

Well, have rambled enough, the washing machine is calling, have dreams to follow and rainbows to chase… busy, busy, busy.. So it is HI HO HI HO on down the path we go.. But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

No hate, no anger, no labels, just an open mind and heart.. Yes, it is a wonderful world on the path least traveled… 🙂

I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, “How do you do?”
They’re really saying
“I love you”

I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more
Than I’ll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Oh yeah

Hello Diary,

It is Tuesday morning, near middle of the week and a fall morning it is… weekend were more like winter with gale winds, but we survived and moving on…experimenting with some things today, thought I would stop and pop in and leave some thoughts… as I said, it is fall and the leaves are coming down in earnest… when most of the leaves have fallen, I will blow them up against the fence…

outside fence

The leaves will protect the plants through the winter and come next spring I will put the leaves inside the fence and scatter…

inside fence

The backyard will take on the appearance of a forest and the leaves will deal with weeds, etc and used by various creatures for food, shelter, nests… no burning of leaves so no smoke pollution of the air and the neighbors will not have to deal with the smoke.. a win for everyone, clever eh?.. 🙂

While outdoor activities may be coming to a close, planting still is occurring indoors… did errands over the weekend and purchased two sweet potatoes…

sweetpotato 1

I set them in water to take root and once that happens I will put them in pots much like the one in the utility room..

sweetpotato 2

And like the one in the hallway (the vine is near 5 feet long)…

s potato 1

The plants will last for some time, add a little greenery to the home and freshen up the atmosphere a bit… fall also means the time of year for soup… purchased some ingredients the weekend for vegetable soup..

veggie soup

Makes 8 servings.. I slow cooked in the crockpot and then put in zip-loc bags and in the freezer…

Getting away from the path for a time, I browsed the news and see that the world loves to use labels for a being instead of accepting them as they are… I cannot put a label on myself because by being open minded and open heart, I am far to complicated for labels, would have to change labels before the ink is dry… 🙂 and because no other being (real or imagined) thinks, acts or looks like me, I cannot use “me” as a guide to judge another… and because I am open minded, I accept beings as they are, think and believe anyway… soooooooooooooo, I guess I will venture down the path “labelless” and “different”… 🙂

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Becoming free is learning about yourself; the scared and the insecure, the brilliant and the bold. Embrace both and the journey is yours and yours alone. No longer are you following another’s directions and your path and purpose will present themselves. Only then might you find another wandering soul doing the same thing, who can walk with you but on their own journey. All of a sudden you might find a shared passion and a wrinkled map on the trail that makes sense.” Riitta Klint

“We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark, the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.” Plato

Life Is Now….

Time flies, and memories fade.
People change and new friendships are made.
Only the true remain forever at our side.
Eventually the disappointment and pain will subside.

It is all about the journey and what has yet to come.
Life is what you make of it; you are what you’ve become.
Life is too short to hold onto regrets.
Forgiveness is key even though you may never forget.

Cherish the good and remove the bad.
Some people don’t realize till it’s gone what they’ve had.
Moving on is a way of life.
There will always be obstacles, pain, and strife.

You must believe that you are strong enough to fight.
You have to believe in yourself to do what is right.
Always do for YOU no matter what you do,
Because in the end the only one who has your back is you.

Never be afraid to take a stand,
And always be willing to lend a helping hand.
A little bit goes a long way.
All it takes is a smile to brighten someone’s day.

Your chance to live is now, so what are you waiting for?
The world is yours for the taking and so much more.
Endless possibilities are forever at your disposal.
The chance to live another day is life’s golden proposal.

Never let anyone tear you down,
And never let anyone steal your shine and make you frown.
So will you sit in the shadows and let darkness win again?
Or will you rise up and make the light your friend?
(Hollianne Boucher)

Well, I had better close for now and venture on down the path… have a life to live, adventures to explore and that ever elusive rainbow to chase.. But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise..

Life is too complicated using labels, etc so believe here on the path will stay with the bare necessities.. 🙂

Chorus; Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature’s recipes
That bring the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander
Wherever I roam
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin’ in the tree
To make some honey just for me

When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!

Chorus..

Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Well, next time beware
Don’t pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don’t need to use the claw
When you pick a pair of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue?
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!

Chorus…

So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
‘Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You’re working too hard

And don’t spend your time lookin’ around
For something you want that can’t be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin’ about it
I’ll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you

Hello Diary,

It is a Friday morning here, end of the week, a busy week preparing for winter’s doldrums and following ones dreams… sitting down for a brief period of time with a spot of tea and sharing some thoughts… a dry fall day today with the sky and air clear, making objects on the prairie appear closer than they are… take this farm for instance….

farm

It appears to be next door (I live on the edge of the village) but it is actually 2 1/2 miles (4 KM) away… another example is the elevator seen in the following photo (tall gray object on horizon)..

elevator homer

It appears near by also but is actually 6 miles (10 KM) away… at night can see the lights on the walkways and tower… another indication of fall is the gardens with leaves starting to fall and plants having run their course…

fall yard

Activity out in the gardens will slow down, no need to weed, etc… reminds me of some thoughts by Alma B. Eymann..

Weeder’s Thoughts…..

I have raked the soil and planted the seeds
Now I’ve joined the army that fights the weeds.
For me no flashing saber and sword,
To battle the swiftly marching horde;

With a valiant heart I fight the foe,
My only weapon a trusty hoe.
No martial music to swing me along,
I march to the robin redbreast song.

No stirring anthem of bugle and drum
But the cricket’s chirp and the honey bee’s hum.
No anti-aircraft or siren yell
But there’s Trumpet-creeper and Lily-bell
.
With a loving heart and a sturdy hand,
I defend the borders of flower-land;
While high over Larkspur and Leopardsbane,
A butterfly pilots his tiny plane;

But I shall not fear his skillful hand,
My enemy charges only by land.
Would those who lead nations in war and hate
But lay down their guns at some garden gate,
There, bury- their bombs and their bloody deeds,
And join the grand army that’s fighting the weeds.
-Alma B. Eymann

Even weeds have their place.. 🙂 on the south lawn I found this lone little dandelion, defying winter…

dandelion

Still following its dreams, a free spirit stubbornly living life… some words by Mary Triplett

Will to Live
I think of all things that show a zest
For life, the dandelion beats the rest.
The little winged seeds from its white fluff ball
Settle and grow with no urging at all.
Settle in most unlikely places
And soon there’s a crop of dandelion faces.

They are man’s worst pest, but a child’s playthings.
Sometimes I wish I had light down wings
Like a dandelion seed, and could settle at will
On a velvety lawn or a sun-spread hill,
And live with the eagerness and zest
Of the wanton little dandelion pest.
-Mary Triplett

And so it goes on the path least traveled… in spite of efforts by those in denial, change is ongoing and taking place… and speaking of change, had better close as the laundry is ready to be put on the line, have dreams to chase and adventures to explore… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise..

I almost forgot, as I turned the corner of the house, I saw this little lovely rose (white being the symbol of new beginnings, love)….

last rose

And I sigh as I took the photo and there were a bit of sadness in the air, because it is the last rose of summer…

The Last Rose Of Summer….

Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone
All her lovely companions are faded and gone
No flower of her kindred, no rosebud is nigh
To reflect back her blushes and give sigh for sigh

I’ll not leave thee, thou lone one, to pine on the stem
Since the lovely are sleeping, go sleep thou with them
Thus kindly I scatter thy leaves o’er the bed
Where thy mates of the garden lie scentless and dead

So soon may I follow when friendships decay
And from love’s shining circle the gems drop away
When true hearts lie withered and fond ones are flown
Oh who would inhabit this bleak world alone?

Hello Diary,

It is near the middle of the week again, time moves on, more adventures lie ahead… more like winter weather as of late instead of fall… but that too shall pass, one day… 🙂 making plans for some indoor projects for the winter doldrums, continue with others, all while follow my dreams, being ME.. 🙂 thought I would leave a few thoughts before venturing on down the path….

Have observed that the human race is still having issues with being “different”.. with earth getting “smaller” thanks to technology, it seems that people live in fear of that which may contradict their way of thinking or ideology… unable to accept someone as who they are or wish to believe… denying someone their dreams…

Well, I were going through some old photos in history’s past (flash drive) and retrieve some of Bree, a little Jack Russell terrier that became a resident of the path least traveled years ago… the following photo is of her making sure I did my errands, not forgetting anything..

Bree and popcorn chicken

Popcorn chicken were her favorite snack while we were on the road… back home, in the following photo, Bree were making sure I planted the Hostas properly….

bree planting

And once we had that task taken care of, it were time for some house cleaning… here she is making sure I vacuumed properly….

bree vac

And once the vacuuming were done, made sure the vinyl floors were properly swept (she also liked to chase the broom)….

breebroom

And once the floor were swept, then needed to mop the floor…

Bree super #3

Now, Dairy, you are probably wondering what little Bree had to do with being different… well, Bree was different, she did not fit in with society’s thinking… she were 6 months old when she became a part of the path least traveled and I were her “fourth” owner… 🙂 society tried to force Bree in becoming what “society” wanted her to be and she would have none of it… here on the path she was allowed to follow her dreams…

Life is full of choices
Make sure you pick the right one,
Don’t listen to the voices
Hear only yours and you have won.

Many people will tell you
You need to change your looks,
Don’t take to heart their view
Fabulous bods are found only in books.

There is only one voice
That you should listen to,
It will help make the right choice
That is perfect just for you.

Your looks are your own
Someone will always love you,
You will never be alone
Look in the mirror and you’ll see who.

Winds of Change…

I watched that heavy door begin to close,
all the while the winds above me rose.
The years whisper and whistle back into my ear,
the memories haunted by sorrows and fear.

With a new day it finally dawned on me,
the past needed locking and I had the key.
Leave it behind, leap and fly away free,
let the winds of change blow and carry me.

Feel them lifting my wings now able to soar,
up to an open sky and caged no more.
Flying so fast to where no hurt can find,
a place of peace now inhabits my mind.

This heart full of courage never ceases to beat,
knowing my history is not destined to repeat.
Clear paths now lead me to a new destination,
for my life, my future and the next generation.

Hello Diary,

Well, it is a Saturday morning, a gloomy, cold morning weather wise but have high spirits here and enjoying life and the day… a day to be contemplating the tomorrows and what the tomorrows may bring while sipping on a spot of tea with a bit of honey… a relaxing day after a busy week and thought I would take the time to share a few thoughts about my little part of the universe…

While on the subject of weather, woke up to a lovely Monday morning…

contrails mon

A mixture of clouds and Contrails (vapor trails of aircraft) for a scenic view on the prairies… spent the day outdoors in the gardens and yard preparing for the coming winter… were able to do some work outdoors on Tuesday also and it were a good thing as the weather was starting to change… woke up on Wednesday morning to a foggy morning..

weds morn fog

Later in the day, the rains moved in and it did rain rest of the day and into the night… had a bit of rain on Thursday before some clearing… had an appointment to get a flu vaccine on Friday so I woke up on Friday morning to start the auto and this is what I found…

frost on roof

Yes, frost on the roof… Ole Jack Frost had stopped by for a visit …. not only did Jack Frost visit, but his cousin Ole Man Winter did also… 😦

glazing

Before I could go to my appointment, I had to clean the windows of the auto… and the “icing on the cake” was later that afternoon as rain commenced and at one point had some “snow” mixed in with the rain… 😦 so on Friday, Mother Nature gave me a subtle hint to put away my summer shorts and flip-flops and start looking for the flannels and mukluks (winter boots)… 🙂

I were born and grew up on a farm here on the prairies and like most farm boys, did some hunting… small game and birds, did not hunt for the sport but for the food.. So over time I accumulated a few hunting firearms…40 plus years ago I no longer had the heart to hunt so those firearms gathered dust, no threat to anyone… in the last few years I have been reading the news about violence and gun violence in particular… weapons getting into the wrong hands, being stolen and used for crime, threats, etc and I became concerned about the weapons still in my possession…

So after giving it some thought and with guns no longer welcome on the path least traveled, I “walked the walked” and disposed of them… to make sure any weapon that I had owned did not get in to the wrong hands and become a danger to some creature, I called the County Sheriffs Department, told them what I wished done and they sent two officers out to collect the weapons and have them destroyed… here is the last picture of the weapons before the officers came…

goodbye friearms

I cannot prevent some unfortunate creature from coming into harms way of a weapon, but I will live each day knowing that the weapon will be not one of the weapons I possessed.. 🙂

“He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery”. -Harold Wilson

“It is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be.” Isaac Asimov

Well, I had better close for now… destiny is calling, there are adventures to explore on the path, dreams to follow, but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Well, Diary, the weather is indeed a mystery… also I may not live to see it but perhaps one day there will indeed be “peace on earth, goodwill towards man”… maybe the answer is in the wind… 🙂

How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?

How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they’re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea?
How many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?

How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn’t see?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?

How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind.

Hello Diary,

Near middle of the week, been busy preparing for winter, all the while summer trying to not let go and leave…but soon may be summer’s last hurrah as they are forecasting low temperatures in the 30’s end of the week.. … 🙂 taking time out from the daily adventures and thought I would share a few thoughts… returning to avoiding waste, conserving, etc… over the past have been experimenting with a number of ideas… do not drink coffee these days but chose to drink green tea…

green tea

Green tea is better for me and I use a bit of honey as a sweetener… I also use herbs for health reasons but it is difficult to get fresh herbs here on the prairies and to be able to avoid waste with fresh herbs, so I have taken to using capsules…

herbs

One needs to be careful and purchase only from a reputable seller and to start out in moderation to ensure one does not have a reaction…. I also have issues with using fresh eggs…. I do not use eggs that often with it just being me, so I decided to purchase powdered eggs…

powdered egg

I can use however much I wish, don’t have to worry about refrigeration and when I eat eggs it is usually scrambled anyway… also I have issues with potatoes spoiling… if I purchase a bag of potatoes over time I will end up throwing away half the potatoes… so to have mashed potatoes I purchase the package..

mashed potatoes

For a baked potato I will purchase a whole baked potato and then cut to portion size I wish, bake and then freeze individually… for french fries I will purchase a potato for baking, cut into slices and then halve the slices…

sliced baked

Add what spices I wish, bake and then put on a cookie sheet and into the freezer to freeze individually… then I put into a zip-lox bag and can remove how ever many potatoes I wish to eat…
And for vegetables I usually purchase frozen…

veggies

And I can remove whatever portion I plan to eat… I also purchase the above vegetables in cans to reduce refrigeration…. So, an example of my efforts in the food department to eat healthy and avoid waste… also to reduce energy consumption and as some of those foods can be delivered, I can reduce the amount of carbon omissions and use of fossil fuels by not driving…

With my efforts hopefully the food that I would have wasted has been given to someone needy and I have helped in making the world a better place for those that may follow me… that is one of my dreams that I follow!!! … 🙂

“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again”.. William Penn

“The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt. “
Friedrich Buechner

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” -Mother Teresa

Well, I had better close and venture on down the path… have life to live, adventures to explore, dreams to chase and rainbows to find… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Well, if one wishes to do what I do, arise with a light heart to a bright day filled with happiness, some way, some how you gotta love someone, right Seekers?… 🙂

You can hear them singing on the street
You’ve gotta love someone
If you want to dance with happy feet
You’ve gotta love someone

Don’t need anyone to tell you how
There never was a better time than now
Cause we all know what makes the world go round
You’ve gotta love someone

I am in heaven
All of the seven
Days of the week
With you having fun
My heart’s on fire
I am inspired
Love takes you higher
When you truly love someone

If you want to steal his heart away
You’ve gotta love someone
If you can t live without her one more day
You know you love someone

I’ve got a secret to reveal
It s got me spinning like a spinning wheel
So if you want to know just how it feels
You’ve gotta love someone

Love takes you higher
When you truly love someone
Love takes you higher
When you truly love someone

It’s all about love on the path least traveled…

Hello Diary,

Near end of the week…still a bit like summer with rain and storms looming in the distance, but all is well here… ready for ole Jack Frost whenever he decides to put in an appearance… 🙂 thought I would pop in briefly and share some thoughts…. Were going to pen some about eating healthy and avoid waste but after a quick read of the news, decided to post something bright and hopeful to counter the news…. I have witnessed leaders and others pass laws (religious, social, economical, etc..), ultimatums and the end result has been conflict, anger, hate, suffering etc for the most part… I wonder if they ever considered something else….

I set here looking at the news
The powers wanted peace they say,
And while they spoke, bombs were dropped
20 children died that day!

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give PEACE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

Smiles on their faces, while shaking hands
Arms deals for defense would come into play,
A bomb went off in a crowded market
10 children died that day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give a world without bombs a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

A war to end all wars, they said
Yet to war they always return,
Death, destruction, suffering and pain
Won’t they every learn?

What’s wrong with this idea?
Let’s give LEARNING a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Anger versus anger, hate versus hate
Seeds sown by war at home and away,
Starvation , sickness, a mother in tears
More and more children die every day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give LOVE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Well, here on the path least traveled the world is viewed differently, through the eyes of the open heart occupied by hope… inside there are lovers who are in the secret garden…

kissing statue

Ewwwwww get a room… 🙂

“Love is the expansion of two natures in such fashion that each include the other, each is enriched by the other.” Felix Adler

And there are these two young ones, wonder what they are thinking… 🙂

“Loving someone is giving them the power to break your heart, but trusting them not to.” Julianne Moore

Venturing on down that path, happen to look up and caught them in the act… it’s everywhere, I tell you… 🙂

kissing angels

“If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t, they never were.” Richard Bach

And in a little nook I spied this young couple dancing while looking each other in the eyes… wonder what waltz they were dancing to… 🙂

dancing couple

“True love doesn’t happen right away; it’s an ever-growing process. It develops after you’ve gone through many ups and downs, when you’ve suffered together, cried together, laughed together, loved together.” Ricardo Montalban

And, of course, outside we cannot forget the lovebirds, right?… 🙂

lovebirds

I believe they had a family… and there is Attilia and friend….

Attilia and friend

They had a family also… well, Diary, if you haven’t guessed by now, the force here on the path is love… 🙂

Whispering world, a sigh of sighs,
The ebb and the flow of the ocean tides.
One breath, one word may end or may start
Hope has a place in a lover’s heart.
Look to love and you may dream,
And if it should leave then give it wings.
But if such a love is meant to be;
Hope is home, and the heart is free.
( Enya)

A invisible force that bonds spirits, creatures together in some form of relationship…

“A house that is built with patience, understanding and love will withstand the strongest winds of difficulties and conflict , a house built with haste and insincerity will collapse in a mere breeze of discontent.” (Larry “Dutch” Woller )

It cannot be seen or touch, it is not delivered by normal means, but an invitation sent by the heart..

A Invitation..

I received a invitation one day
Oh, not your regular kind,
The words not spoken or written
But were in the heart and mind.

To share a love and happiness
A love, that is precious and true,
A happiness that is eternal
That only lovers and dreamers knew.

The invite did not come the regular way
No cards, no letters, no phone, no email.. you see,
It just appeared one quiet sunny day
In the depths, the spirit and heart of me.

The invite came from an unknown
A unknown too great for me to behold,
But it is to be a precious beginning,
Of a story, one day to be told.

( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

Perhaps if love and compassion guided by an open heart would rule the day, this ole universe would be a lot better place and the news would be filled with happiness… 🙂

Speaking of the path, I had better close and venturing on down the path, adventures waiting for me… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Now, I know that due to religious, economic and social pressure you may think little of yourself as you are.. You should not look down on yourself, you are wonderful just the way you are… if only you could see you the way I do…. 🙂

Hello Diary,

It’s near middle of the week, cloudy and a tad bit foggy for a fall morning, but a pleasant day none the less because I woke up on the green side of the grass, not under it… 🙂 put in a busy past few days preparing my little part of the universe for winter… making sure the house was ready in order protect the house and to conserve energy, all the while having life comfortable and healthy… stopping the world for a brief moment in time and getting off for a few minutes to share some thoughts…

And speaking of conserving energy, going to chat a bit about how I can conserve energy and still eat healthy… I do not use the stove anymore, it is disconnected from fossil fuels, no carbon emissions…

stove

The stove is still useful as I use it for storage and counter space… the follow appliances are what I use, can cook any type of meal and is energy efficient… the first is the all important microwave…

micro

With a little experimentation, one is amazed at what one can do with it…. Of course, there is the always important convection/toaster oven…

toaster oven

I use it to pre-cook foods to put in the freezer, in order to use the microwave later.. The next is the magnetic hot plate…

magnetic hot plate

It is used in place of a burner on the stove…. It is digital and can enter the temperature and the cook time… I haven’t used it enough to be totally efficient at using it but learning as I go… 🙂 without accessories one has to use cookware designed to use with the hot plate… however, there is an accessory available to use with the hot plate…

hot plate access

It is relatively inexpensive and when using the accessory, one can use any cookware…

hot plate, access, skillet

Another appliance I use ( though not as much as I use to) is the crockpot….

crockpot

I have different sizes for different meals….. And finally for my cleaning, etc I have my trusty electric teapot….

tea pot

With it I heat up water for washing dishes, blanching vegetables etc… I have a backup tea pot should one not be enough water… it reduces the use of the water heater…

So there are some examples of what I do here on the path to conserve energy, etc and still maintain a healthy lifestyle… some changes have been made in the lifestyle, of course, but for the better…. And I am just preparing meals for one, me… 🙂 but with a little experimentation, can work for anyone should they wish to try….

“If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can’t, you’re right”. Mary Kay Ash

Of course, the effort it to reduce energy waste, reduce dependency on fossil fuels, reduce emissions in the atmosphere, etc… I grew up on a farm here on the prairies in the 1940’s, ‘50’s and early ‘60’s and my father always told me “if I take care of the land, the land will take care of me”… 🙂

Here on the path it may appear to be of little consequence, a small effort, but perhaps with the help of others, we can help preserve the planet Earth for those that follow us and still be able to follow our dreams and live life!… 🙂

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” -Mother Teresa

“The life I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another, until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place my touch will be felt.” Frederick Buechner

Only history will know if I succeeded or not, but I shall leave this mortal world knowing that I tried, in hopes that all creatures here on the path least traveled ( and other places) were able to follow their dreams to their destinies, even after I am gone and become a memory (the mortal destiny of all creatures)… 🙂

“There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.”
– Douglas H. Everett

Well, I had better close for now… venture on down the path to see what new adventure lie ahead, perhaps chase a rainbow or two to seek out my destiny… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Cannot speak for the rest of the universe, but here on the path least traveled it is a wonderful world indeed!… 🙂
