Dear Dairy Page 3…….

Dear Diary Page 3…

After a busy week working on last years “to do” list, woke up this morning to a quiet morning as I ventured out to make observations for weather data to turn in…most songbirds have ventured further north or headed back south… cool last night so few A/C running… smile… as the sun rose and started to warm things up, shallow fog started to appear…

fog

It is moisture being removed from the plants, and ground, called “evapotranspiration” or ET for short…reminded me of the old British Sherlock Holmes films with the fog… this one reminded me of the film “The Hound of the Baskervilles”.. and while on the subject of ET, finished up a project to install a ET gauge…

ETgage

a gauge of my own and possibly one from the NWS (they wish to compare the two in a trial run) and retire the old evaporation pan… decided to fancy it up a bit, built a small fence and posts and will put the gauges on the posts…

While on the subject of weather, took this picture a couple of weeks ago.. The unusual formation is known as “virga” (rain evaporating before getting to the surface)…. normally the clouds look like rain clouds but these were a “pretty” white…

Virga2

Took this picture of two wood pigeons in the shade trying to “beat the heat”.. look a great deal like doves only larger and a lighter color gray…rare for around here but the word is out about my Oasis here…smile…

Also checked on my status with the BOINC project…

Been a long, busy week but got lots done, more to do, and still managed to enjoy the moment, as it won’t come again…..smile…. will have a somewhat relaxing weekend as me and a little JR named “Bree” will continue down the path least traveled, following Enya’s advice… if Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Dear Diary…. a little about Bree….

Dear Diary Page 2…

What one say about a little JR named Bree… a free spirit, perhaps, living and loving life, making the most out of every second of time knowing it will never come back again… a daring little dog whose curiosity knows no bounds, not afraid of leaving safe harbor… has taken it upon herself to defend our little realm and all that it contains… … not a vicious, aggressive little dog, but will stand her ground….think the following poem will give a little insight also…

Show me a Doberman,
I’ll cut him to size.
I’ll tear him to pieces
In front of your eyes.

I’m cocksure and bossy
The King of the Patch
Bring on your Alsations,
It won’t be a match.

I’m a dirty street fighter,
My language is foul.
I’ll fight to the death,
Never throw in the towel.

Don’t step near my missus,
Don’t push me too far,
Get right off my pavement
Take your hands off my car.

And when she’s alone,
I’ll sit on her knee,
She’ll know she’s quite safe,
Relying on me.

Don’t walk by my lorry,
When I’m at a show.
When I’m guarding my ponies,
I’m lethal to know.

I’ll follow a fox
To the depths of his lair,
But I like creature comforts…
Get out of my chair!

I won’t walk or heel
Or sit when I’m told,
But I’m loving, protective,
Brave, loyal, and bold.

My life’s full of moments,
Importance and bustle.
I know I’m the greatest…
I’m called a JACK RUSSELL!!!

A picture of her checking the tulip bed early this spring, taking notes as to what needs to be done, I suspect… while keeping a close eye on me as I work with the weather instruments…

Bree in tulip bed

She is real good at supervising, here she is watching me as work on the small pond, preparing it for the summer after the winter doldrums….

Bree 3

Keeping watch for the auto, while I were indoors briefly shopping, and now waiting for me to finish loading the auto so she can enjoy her treat, her mostest favorite; popcorn chicken…she truly loves to ride, has all the comforts of home in the auto, just have to be vigilant about the weather…

Cannot leave without mentioning her mostest favorite song; Don’t Worry, Be Happy… smile..

And down the path least travel we continue, Bree and I, if Fate is willin’ and the creek’s don’t rise….

Dear Diary, The Beginning…..

Dear Diary, The Beginning…..

Dear Diary Page 1…

The Beginning..

With the passing of my wife some time ago, in the near future me and my little JR, companion and friend, Bree, will be embarking on a new adventure… down the path least traveled… being independent and not into religion, am not in the so called “social box”, restrained by social chains, not catering to, or guided by, someone else’s ideology, so hopefully will be able to venture down the path with a relatively open, objective mind…

Though Kathy passed away after battling cancer, she, along with her friend and JR (who passed away before her), Miss Daisy, will be there in spirit…and we will explore and learn more about the planet Earth and all that it contains, more about ourselves, me and Bree, as time goes on… and maybe even the universe…..as we go through our daily lives cherishing every second as it will never come again….

But for now, in the “preparing” stage, making sure that history’s past is dealt with properly and all is in order, before setting sail, leaving safe harbor, eyes on the horizon… “preparing” for the venture down the path least traveled, if Fate is willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….ME
