Hello Diary,

Going to briefly share some thoughts about my little Kindle… I have had folks ask me which I prefer, a book or a Kindle… I am not promoting Kindles or have anything against books, what works for me may not work for others…  🙂

But there are a number of reasons why I have a Kindle ( I actually have three Kindles, a Paperwhite, a 7 inch Kindle Fire and a 10 inch Kindle Fire)… I do not have to worry about storage like I would if I had books, I have near 1200 books stored on each my Kindles and they are also backed up should I have issues with the Kindle… 🙂

The Paperwhite Kindle is also easier to take with me when I am traveling as it is light and does not take up much space…. 🙂

I can purchase books at a reduce cost and have access to a greater assortment of books..  🙂

Finally, by using the Kindle, I reduce the need to use paper and the cutting of trees, etc and help the environment… 🙂

I use the 7 inch Kindle Fire for around home… it is in color, has speakers should I decide to buy audible books and it also has limited computer use…. 🙂

I gathered some supplies like a photo stand… 🙂

Along with a piece of plywood, Velcro and other materials and I made a lightweight stand for the Kindle so I do not have to hold it…. I can set it on my lap, any flat surface and if I am laying down, can set it on my stomach…. hands free if I wish.. 🙂

When I leave the house to travel, appointments, etc I take the Paperwhite with me.. 🙂

I converted a small purse into a traveling carrier for the Kindle as well as my phone, cards, etc…. 🙂

With my Kindles I can learn more about this place called Earth and the universe, I can see the world through the eyes of others and see things I would not be able to see, I can learn more about my neighbors and gather a greater understanding about life and the world on this ole “third rock from the sun”.. and what a wonderful world it is….  🙂

Well, I had better close for now… a relaxing day planned, gather the Kindle, a cup of Earl Grey and a couple of blueberry muffins and see what new adventures the Kindle will bring me today… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….

Until we meet again…

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.
     (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

"Portrait of a Friend"

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only think of you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are or who you will be
I can only love you and be your friend
                                      (Adam Clarke)

Hello Diary,

With today’s world filled with hate, ridicule, anger, etc thought I would share some thoughts about what this world needs more of…..LOVE… 🙂

A photo of Kathy and I near the beginning… we were partners in life for 53 years before she left this mortal world in search of her destiny… 🙂

A bouquet of love for you
Each bloom has been chosen in hopes to convey
To bring in the season of joy this year
With my message of love this day

With a red Carnation,
To show how my heart aches for you,
Posies of Forget-Me-Nots,
To show my love is true

And fragrant Freesias,
Embracing trust we share
With Lilies of the Valley,
Returning happiness and care

Daisies to show,
My love is loyal - undivided,
As the Phlox whispers softly,
'Our spirits are united,'

And I've added Primrose,
To remind you again
That I can't live without you,
And with you I'll remain

And all about this bouquet,
Are sprigs of Baby's Breath, sown
So delicately displayed
With a message of their own,

So with this bouquet of love
I shall eternally bestow
A heartfelt message of love,
Even these blooms seem to know.

This bouquet was picked for you
For coming into my world forever
For giving sunshine, laughter and happiness
And a love beyond the 12th of never.
         (Larry “Dutch’ Woller)

Well, I had better close for now as I need to venture on down the path as destiny awaits me… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….

Hope your world is filled with love and until we meet again, remember;

A tongue can accuse and carry bad news
The seeds of distrust, it can sow,
So unless you know the truth and only the truth
Be careful of stones that you throw.
            (Larry “Dutch” Woller )

Hello Diary,

While viewing the world today, I saw many had lost their loved ones, for them a time of sorrow… with these trying times it may be difficult to do,  but the sorrow should be short lived for even though the mortal body is no longer present, the love and spirit remains, memories imbedded in ones heart beyond the 12th of Never… to be visited whenever one wishes to,  the love guiding the heart, providing light in times of darkness… 🙂

One fond memory were Kathy had a thing about cobwebs… when she saw a cobweb on the ceiling, she would point at it and say “take it down”..  I would smile at her and say “don’t look at it”… when I see a cobweb today, I can here her say “take it down”…  🙂

As is the destiny with all creatures, great and small, the time had come for Kathy to leave this mortal world, and Kathy, Bree and I met one final time and had a quiet goodbye….  “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ( Dr. Seuss)..  🙂

Bree.. 🙂

And I know that Kathy, and no doubt Miss Daisy, were looking on… 🙂

Miss Daisy..

I knew her spirit were still there, and at her final resting place, I had the Chaplain say these words… 🙂

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaking in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
    (Mary Frye)

And after we parted, I played this song, for it was time for me and Bree to say goodbye… 🙂

But the memories, the love, the spirit, shall always remain in ones heart and when times of sorrow should venture into ones life, one may get a message from the heart… 🙂

When tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
Filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me
I know you’ll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me
I’m right there in your heart.
     (Alena Hakala Meadows)

And the heart, filled with memories, will indeed go on… 🙂
Bree has since passed on also, joining Kathy and Miss Daisy.. but I am not alone for they are here with me wherever I go and I smile because it happened… 🙂

Will close for now, this ole heathen’s heart needs to go on, adventures await and need to make more memories for the ole heart… but I (and Kathy, Miss Daisy and Bree) shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…. 🙂

Until we meet again….

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.

Here on the path, in spite of life’s challenges and occasional dark skies, there is hope for “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.” (Emily Dickinson)…   🙂

HOPE IS

Hope is a feather floating in a bright blue sky
Hope is that sparkle that shines in your eyes.
Hope is a butterfly fluttering on the wind
Hope is good times spent with family and friends.

Hope is a newborn baby’s cry
Hope is a Mother’s lullaby.
Hope is the rainbow after a rain
Hope is the harvest of golden grain.

Hope is the light that keeps darkness at bay
Hope is the breeze on a hot summer day.
Hope is ever present and free of cost
Hope is the last thing ever lost.

Hope is staying positive when the going gets tough
Hope is seeking help when you feel you’ve had enough.
Hope is recovery from simmering sorrow
Hope is believing in a brighter tomorrow.
                    (Linda Hotger)

No matter how bleak, there is always tomorrow and a brighter day… 🙂

Hello Diary,

Had a relaxing time during the holidays, enjoying life while preparing for the new year, excitement building with the thought of new adventures…  the best Christmas present I got was being able to wake up and watch each day arrive…  to be able to add more pages to my book of memories…  🙂

I also took a moment of time to ponder the tomorrows and what Fate and Destiny may have instore for me….  🙂

Who am I, one wonders
Whether it is race, gender or ideology,
As I venture down life’s path
As a spirit that is born free..

Wondering about being different
Reminds me of words from a song,
Where do I fit in, one would ask
One wonders, where do I belong.

Does the image without
Determine who I am to be,
Even though the spirit within
May be different, be me.

Do I follow my heart’s dream
When heart and mind disagree,
Or do I listen to the mind
While dealing with reality.

Those questions and more
Life’s puzzle to unravel,
To find answers I am seeking
Down the path I must travel.

So I shall continue down the path least traveled
To seek that rainbow, perhaps around the next bend,
Once found, I’ll have my answers
And that will be the beginning, not the end.
    (Larry “Dutch” Woller)
Perhaps the Bellamy Brothers said it best… 🙂

He’s a old Hippie
He’s not sure what to do
He don’t fit in with the old
He’s too old for the new
He’s not trying to make a fuss
He’s just trying to adjust

Now, where is that ole rainbow, one wonders.. 🙂

I had better close for now, life and the new year is calling… change is in the winds so the new year should be interesting… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

Until we meet again….

May you always be blessed
with walls for the wind,
a roof for the rain,
a warm cup of tea by the fire,
laughter to cheer you,
those you love near you,
and all that your heart might desire.
                (Irish Saying)
