Christmas day on the path least traveled….

Dear Diary,
Merry Christmas Diary!!.. Thought I would pop in briefly to leave a few thoughts before continuing on with the festivities on the path least traveled and contemplate what the future may have in store….

In order to not have to cook or clean dishes on Christmas day, decided to prepare the meal the middle of last week so cooked the dressing, green beans, potatoes and cooked a small ham,,

Got everything cooked for me and Bree and then put in a plate (not a regular plate) heaping full ….

And put in the freezer…got out of the freezer this morning and all I have to do is put in a microwave and heat up.. No cooking, no mess… clever, eh?… 🙂 …

Got up this morning and warmed up a Scottish egg…

And then opened presents… I received some nice gifts and Bree enjoyed hers also… her present was in a bag…

After a little work and effort, managed to get it open without my assistance…

And after dealing with all of the goodies, spent the rest of the time enjoying her new squeaky toy…

Sooooo, even though it is foggy and a bit gloomy outdoors, it is Christmas indoors and being enjoyed by all….. at home for Christmas where one should be and the atmosphere is filled with goodwill, cheer and happiness in spite of whatever the circumstances the world may be in outside!!… a quiet, peaceful moment with Bree and I being ourselves, the free spirit within, and not trying to be something we’re not, not creating a false image.. it is your life to live, no one else can live it for you and you will only get one try at it so it is best you do it your way… 🙂

That being said, will leave now and get on with the day on the path least traveled.. will leave a poem I wrote for the occasion.. And shall return one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Christmas Is Coming, White Or Not…….

Tis rain and fog, not a snowflake in sight
Looks like Christmas in Hawaii, and this I fear,
With the weather forecast in hand
May not be a white Christmas this year!

The tree is trimmed, not as many lights this year
The presents are fewer, but tis the thought that counts,
Maybe not as plentiful, but food being prepared
As Christmas draws near and excitement mounts!

The spirit is in the air, the weather not to matter
And I am caught up in the spirit, I must confess,
So white or no, Merry Christmas to ALL!
And may all your presents be filled…. with love and happiness!!

Living the holidays and preparing for the future on the path least traveled

Dear Diary,

It has been some time since I have popped in and penned a few thoughts.. Have been busy dealing with life, bringing some things to a close, preparing for new adventures in a new year and getting ready for the holidays… so will leave a few thoughts before venturing on down the path least traveled…

Fall was pleasant and all were starting preparations for the coming winter… Attilla, the possum was hunting for a place to hibernate for the winter and was checking out the squirrels home, much to the dismay of the squirrels… but she didn‘t stay… 🙂

And I were getting ready for the leaf gathering (with Bree‘s supervision, of course)…

And sure enough, after some subtle hints by Mother Nature, the outdoors went from this….

Winter has arrived and Santa has given us a taste of the North Pole!… but, with most outdoor work done, moved indoors to do some projects and prepare for the holidays… had to do a bit of cleaning before starting the decorations, so I started in, were mopping the kitchen floor when Bree, while supervising, found a dog biscuit she had stashed…

But she continued on, keeping a close eye me… got the decorations finished, tree is up with presents underneath, ready for the holidays on the path least traveled…

Have the flowers at the cemeteries, stocked up on food, etc so ready for whatever the weather may bring, will work on some projects and relax a bit over the holidays before starting a new year, new adventures as Bree and I continue down the path least traveled, and hopefully will be able to do more blogging… in closing, will leave a few thoughts;

“Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.” Phillip Sweet

“Bad things do happen, how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have– life itself. “ Walter Anderson

“Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when your riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake up and live! “ Bob Marley

Better scoot, have a few things to do today, minor tasks and enjoy the day.. a leisurely day planned.. Shall return again one day, Diary, to share thoughts and adventures as Bree and I venture down the path least traveled, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

A little something by Enya for those who may find themselves alone on Christmas day for whatever reason.. Remember, loneliness is a state of mind.. 🙂

The lyrics;

When the tears are in your eyes
It’s time to look inside
Your heart can find another way

Believe in what I say
Don’t throw this time away
Tomorrow will be Christmas day

Christmas day

So let the shadows go
And drift away like snow
Tomorrow will be Christmas day
Tomorrow will be Christmas day

Christmas day

So dream until the night
Becomes the morning light
Tomorrow will be Christmas day
Tomorrow will be Christmas day
