Thanksgiving Eve is approaching on the prairies and the path least traveled, time to contemplate the future while browsing through memories past…

Thanksgiving has arrived
Another year as gone bye,
Been busy chasing dreams
Living life..time did fly,

A time to contemplate the past
A time to give thanks…they say,
To relive treasured memories
Of each and every passing day.

Thanks for letting me feel love
Be it joy, or be it heartache,
To know someone’s love
A treasured feeling their love did make.

Thanks for letting me live life
To explore, to follow one’s dream,
To seek out and live every adventure
Not enough time in the day… it did seem.

Thanks for letting me meet friends
To share thoughts of love, hope..perhaps a tear,
And by going down the path together in friendship
Doing away with hate, anger….and fear.

Thanks for giving me the courage
To follow my own path…to be me,
To not follow someone else’s path
To live my own….. reality.

Thanks for giving me an open mind
As I venture down the path… allowing me,
To gaze upon life’s treasures, large and small
That many others do not see.

Thanks for giving me an open heart
Able to love, understand and forgive,
And when I grow too old to dream
A place where my memories will live.

Yes, I have much to be thankful for
And every day the list gets longer… you see,
As I venture down the path least traveled
Searching for what destiny… has waiting for me.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

“Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown).
And for all those wonderful spirits and people that graced the path with their presence over time, thanks for the memories.. 🙂

Hello Dairy…
(Were going to post tomorrow, Wednesday, but with the potential for hazardous weather on the horizon, thought I had better do it today… 🙂 )

Thanksgiving and the holidays are on the horizon.. and hopefully not only for a time of cheer but also a time of peace, hope, love, understanding and friendship for everyone, that is my dream for the holidays (and every day)… 🙂

In history’s past, on the path, I had a dream
Of a world in harmony it did seem,
Accepting one as to who they believe and are
One’s lifes choices no one did bar.

world-peace, hands 1

Free to climb a mountain, to touch a star
Free to search the universe, where answers are,
Free to venture through life, with open mind
Another’s belief, it did not blind.

love-world, hands1

Free to boldly walk the lands, both far and near
To lives one’s life without suffering or fear,
Not to be accepted by belief, gender or race, you see
But by the love, understanding and knowledge of a spirit born free.

people-of-the-worldlove

Children could follow their own dream, you see
Not to be denied by another’s ideology,
To follow the destiny of their own choice
Not to be hindered by another’s voice.

I still have that dream, you know
A dream that began a long time ago,
A dream without end, each and every day
Until the four winds, they all blow away.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

The universe knows that I am not into religion (as my late wife’s Chaplain said “ it is what is in the heart that matters, not a name above a door) but I agree with Vince and Jenny Gill…

Well, I had better close… need to prepare for the holidays also, all the while awaiting what adventures lies ahead.. but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise..

Of course, what makes the holidays magical, especially Christmas, are the children (like me.. 🙂 )… to see the wonder in their eyes and the excitement in their voices… “To me there is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter.” (P. T. Barnum)

Charlie Daniels often refers to the children as “Little Folks”…

Little folks are people too
Very much like me and you
The little things they say and do
They kinda make your day
Foolishness and common sense
Through the eyes of innocence
Skip a rope or jump a fence
Gettin’ in the way

Daddy, why are you so tall?
Daddy, why am I so small?
Daddy, who makes snowflakes fall?
Could it be the Lord?
Chasing puppies, climbin’ trees
Bumping heads and skinnin’ knees
It’s not very hard to see
That kids are God’s reward

Little folks get down and out
The girls will cry and boys will pout
Before you know what it’s about
They’re smiling once again
Colored kites on summer breeze
Jingle Bells and Christmas trees
Too soon they’re only memories
Do you remember when?

Daddy, what makes eagles fly?
What makes clouds float in the sky?
And Daddy, if I really try
Will I grow up someday?

But little folks slip through our hands
Like so many grains of sand
You’d best enjoy them while you can
So soon they fly away…

“At the end of the day people may not remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel.” (Maya Angelou) on the path least traveled….

Thanksgiving (and the holidays) are nearing here on the prairies and taking time to relax and browse some memories… 🙂

As the holiday approaches
One contemplates not the day,
But all the years of memories and thoughts
That one acquired along the way.

Memories filled with sadness, sorrow perhaps
Memories with happiness, joy and no fear,
Memories to bring out the laughter
Memories to bring out a tear.

A special time and one to treasure
And not because of the calendar age,
Because a life of memories and thoughts
Will be adding another page!

Even though distance and time apart
It will be a day that all will share,
As love knows no time or distance
Be assured, if only in spirit, I will be there!

It will become our memory, and we will share
The special time of year, every day…… forever,
Because of a love and spirit eternal
Beyond…………. the 12th of Never!!

I set here looking at the news
The powers wanted peace they say,
And while they spoke, bombs were dropped
20 children died that day!

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give PEACE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

Smiles on their faces, while shaking hands
Arms deals for defense would come into play,
A bomb went off in a crowded market
10 children died that day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give a world with LOVE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

A war to end all wars, they said
Yet to war they always return,
Death, destruction, suffering and pain
Won’t they every learn?

What’s wrong with this idea?
Let’s give LEARNING a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Anger versus anger, hate versus hate
Seeds sown by war at home and away,
Starvation , sickness, a mother in tears
More and more children die every day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give PEACE, LOVE and LEARNING a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Hello Diary,

Monday also brought another round of winter….

winter monday

And this morning, Tuesday, saw temperatures near 0F degrees (-17 Celsius) with 3 inches (7.62 cm) of snow on the ground…. thought I would put some extra feed out for my backyard friends…

extra food

There is a small brush pile along side of the feeder separated by a piece of lattice fence… the holes in the fence are approximately 2 inches (5.08 cm) square.. the little sparrows (and other creatures) use the brush pile for protection… when the alarm is sounded, the little sparrows go through the fence and into the brush pile in a blink of an eye!… 🙂

Soooooooo, this morning after I got the feed out, word got around that Dutch’s Buffet were open and soon had around 40-50 sparrows eating… 🙂

sparrows feeding 11-12-19

Suddenly, the alarm were sounded and in a heartbeat the little sparrows were gone…

birds gone

They were hiding in the little brush pile… 🙂

brushpile

How those 40-50 little birds managed to fly through those holes in the fence and not get injured defies logic.. 🙂 but soon the all clear were sounded that the little sparrows started to return to feed… 🙂

birds return

Well, I had better close and get ready for my tomorrows… not going to fly through any holes or defy logic.. but, I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

We were volunteers, one and all
So Noble.. Proud.. and Brave,
Did not know the reasons for war
Just a people from tyranny to save!

Glasses held high, we made an toast
Surely that Victory would rule the day!
While back at home, the voices of unrest
Not a kind word for us did they say.

Some could not vote, children were we
Not old enough to drink, but still our battle cry,
Even with all that we could not do
For us children, it was to do or die!

Vietnam was a hostile, violent land
The dangers, the horrors of war abound,
Whether the paddies of Vietnam or the fields of home,
Seemed for us, not a friend could be found.

But we proudly gave it our all
Faced our destiny, with a hint of fear of tomorrow
Some to return to a mother’s joy
Some to return to a mother’s sorrow.

So should you be looking on today
One more toast, hold your glasses high,
To PEACE, HOPE and LOVE, may they long endure
CHEERS, LADS AND LASSIES!!!.. And SEMPER FI

Hello Diary,

A wintry, overcast day outdoors, a good day to stay in and contemplate tomorrows adventures.. “Everyday I have two choices, either to venture into the light, follow one’s dreams and live life, or stay in the shadows, the darkness and never know happiness…” (Larry “Dutch” Woller) .. also a good day for baking… sliced the crock pot bread, satisfied with the results…

bread sliced

Feeling lucky so I decided to try preparing some cheese and garlic biscuits in the crick pot… again, gathered the necessary ingredients…

biscuit ingredients

I then divided the dough into smaller portions than originally designed for, as I have the biscuits with soup, and put into the crock pot….

biscuit crickpot

A couple of hours later, finished… 🙂

biscuits done

Just the right size to have with a bowl of soup and a cup of tea on a cold wintry day!!.. 🙂 … that being said, will close for now and venture into the not so secret garden here on the path…

I live in a not so secret garden
Along the path least traveled,
Quite unlike the other world
A world that has become unraveled.

A garden of peace and harmony
Being different does not matter here,
All creatures, big and small, living together
Unlike the other world, they do not live in fear.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
Not sure, or dwell, on our final destiny,
But live to enjoy the moment, the hour, the day
That is what life is about, don’t you see.

So into the not so secret garden I will venture
Along the path least traveled,
To find love, understanding, to follow one’s dreams
Unlike the other world unraveled.

A new chapter on the path has begun and “I am free born and free bred, where I acknowledge no man as my superior, except for his own worth, or as my inferior, except for his own demerit.” (Theodore Roosevelt)

Life Is Now….

Time flies, and memories fade.
People change and new friendships are made.
Only the true remain forever at our side.
Eventually the disappointment and pain will subside.

It is all about the journey and what has yet to come.
Life is what you make of it; you are what you’ve become.
Life is too short to hold onto regrets.
Forgiveness is key even though you may never forget.

Cherish the good and remove the bad.
Some people don’t realize till it’s gone what they’ve had.
Moving on is a way of life.
There will always be obstacles, pain, and strife.

You must believe that you are strong enough to fight.
You have to believe in yourself to do what is right.
Always do for YOU no matter what you do,
Because in the end the only one who has your back is you.

Never be afraid to take a stand,
And always be willing to lend a helping hand.
A little bit goes a long way.
All it takes is a smile to brighten someone’s day.

Your chance to live is now, so what are you waiting for?
The world is yours for the taking and so much more.
Endless possibilities are forever at your disposal.
The chance to live another day is life’s golden proposal.

Never let anyone tear you down,
And never let anyone steal your shine and make you frown.
So will you sit in the shadows and let darkness win again?
Or will you rise up and make the light your friend?

A Spirit Born Free…

While dealing with the doldrums
That happen often in wintertime,
And while contemplating my tomorrows
Thought I’d pen some thoughts that rhyme.

As I venture through my life
With each step, all the while being me,
An open mind, a heart of dreams
A spirit, enjoying being free.

A spirit that views another
As another feels, wishes to be,
In a realm of acceptance
So another can enjoy being free.

Free…. to love another
No color, gender or race,
Only to know and feel happiness
No social walls to face.

Free to live life as one chooses
Follow a dream, the heart would say,
Free to walk ones own path of life
Filled with adventures along the way.

There are those who would color me different
Many to gaze upon me with dismay,
But unlike them, I’ve found happiness
Because I chose to live life my way.

(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Hello Diary,

And so it begins, a new chapter filled with adventure, challenges while following one’s heart with a dream in one’s pocket… 🙂 and what does a ole born again heathen with too much time on one’s hand do in winter’s doldrums, one would ask?.. bake a loaf of bread in a crockpot/slow cooker, of course… “The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.” (Julia Child).. 🙂

First the ingredients…

ingrediants

Mix and put in a crockpot/slow cooker..\

crockpot bread

And finally I have a loaf of bread (two loaves actually)…

baking done

And what were I doing while the bread were baking, I prepared Thanksgiving Day dinner (chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans and dressing)…

thanksgiving dinner

It is wrapped, in the freezer and on turkey day I will put in microwave to warm up, no mess, no fuss.. clever, eh?.. 🙂 why bake bread in a crockpot you would ask?.. because I am different and I can… 🙂

And why do I wish to be different, you may ask,
The freedom to choose, to explore, to learn a lot,
Dictated to by a prophet chained to a myth…. NOT
Maybe so everyone can shout and point at me,
And say, “Hey, he’s different”, don’t you see.

My mind is clear and open, gathering knowledge every day
My spirit is young, adventuresome and floating free,
Not confined by those social chains, no box, no mold for me
I am what I am, I am me, what I wish to be,
Perhaps that makes me different, don’t you see.

So my heart’s compass is pointed to the horizon
Sails set full, safe harbor fading in the distance, a faint glow to eye it seems
And with a pocket full of memories, on the horizon are my dreams
On down the path least traveled I will venture, with spirit free
Why the path least traveled?..well, I’m different, don’t you see.
( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

That being said, I had better close… life is calling and adventures are waiting.. but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

“Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” (Kevyn Aucoin)

I took off for a weekend last month
Just to try and recall the whole year
All of the faces and all of the places
Wonderin’ where they all disappeared
I didn’t ponder the question too long
I was hungry and went out for a bite
Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum
And we wound up drinkin all night

Chorus..
It’s these changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same
With all of our running and all of our cunning
If we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane

Reading departure signs in some big airport
Reminds me of the places I’ve been
Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure
Makes me want to go back again
If it suddenly ended tomorrow
I could somehow adjust to the fall
Good times and riches and son of a bitches
I’ve seen more than I can recall

(Chorus)

I think about Paris when I’m high on red wine
I wish I could jump on a plane
So many nights I just dream of the ocean
God I wish I was sailin’ again
Oh, yesterday’s over my shoulder
So I can’t look back for too long
There’s just too much to see waiting in front of me
And I know that I just can’t go wrong

(Chorus)

“The only people that truly know your story are the ones that help you write it” (Author Unknown) on the path least traveled….

The only trick or treaters I saw were a pair of raindeer and one had a funny looking nose.. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hello Diary,

Friday November 1st, 2019, a day after Halloween…

next day

What a difference a day makes… 🙂 ….like the rest of the backyard dwellers, the squirrels continued to prepare for the coming change of season….

squirrels nest

And watching the snow fall yesterday, brought back memories of Christmas’s long ago… thought I would share a few thoughts that I had penned in history’s past… 🙂

It’s twelve days till Christmas
And as I look around,
Checked every package under the tree
No toys for me were found.

But I’m not one bit worried
The sadness it won’t last,
Because I have some memories
Of many of Christmas past.

One Christmas eve in particular
For the night my brother and I retired,
It wasn’t long into the night
The imagination was fired.

We had train track all over the floor
Much to Mom’s dismay,
All night long messages back and forth
Wondering about Christmas day.

But in a blink of an eye
All got quiet real quick,
There was a shadow in our door
And it definitely wasn’t ST. Nick!

It’s Christmas morning….wait there’s a honk
And I looked out the window to see,
It was just my neighbor in his car
Bringing me back to reality.

But that’s ok, I haven’t grown old
And I’m not even going to start,
I’ll be forever young, don’t you see
With Christmas in my heart.

So to all.. and to all
As I get into my sleigh,
WAIT, I can’t say goodnight
It’s the middle of the day!
( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

Mine and my brother’s bedroom were above Mom and Dad’s… 🙂 and it being the middle if the day, had better close and finish the day and week… will be relaxing this weekend (maybe even pen a poem or two) while preparing for changes and adventures that lie on the horizon… will be beginning a new chapter here on the path come Monday… “You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading your last chapter.” (Author Unknown )… 🙂

With that being said, Diary, I will bid you a fond Adieu and I will see you in the next chapter.. 🙂

And I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

No doubt hese three doves…

dove in snow

And I are no doubt thinking the same thoughts… 🙂

How’d ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How’d ja like to spend the Holiday away across the sea?
How’d ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How’d ja like to hang your stockin’ on a great big coconut tree?

How’d ja like to stay up late, like the islanders do
Wait for Santa to sail in with your presents in a canoe
If you ever spend Christmas on Christmas Island
You will never stray, for ev’ry day
Your Christmas dreams come true

A pleasant fall morning on the prairies today, all creatures getting ready for the future… saw the Contrails ( clouds created by engine exhaust) of man and his flying machine chasing one’s destiny…“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. Perhaps Frank has the right idea… 🙂

Hello Diary,

It is a Saturday, a leisurely weekend in the plans for me.. 🙂 speaking of clouds, saw an interesting view today, another indication of change… it is called “Virga” (condensation not making it to the surface)… now in the summer time virga would appear like this (I did not take this photo), like a lace curtain hanging from the cloud… rain not getting to the ground..

virgaonline

With the cooler atmospheric temperatures, today I looked up at the sky and saw this virga…

virga2

Instead if rain (liquid) it was in the form of ice crystals, sometimes referred to as “snow”, soooooooooooooo, I could say I had some snow today, though it never got to the ground, BUT a hint of weather to come, Ole Man Winter is on the horizon… 🙂

There are those taking advantage of the pleasant weather, like the local farmer…

farmer

And there is my little bushy-tailed knucklehead, the squirrel, having breakfast while keeping a close eye on me… 🙂

Yes, today (as every day) is filled with choices and “Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” (Kevyn Aucoin)

CHOICE
I’ll be what I must be, in spite of me
as life won’t always give the things I choose
and so I have to make what has to be
into the things my life and I can use.

All roads don’t lead to Rome, as it’s been said,
but some to Paris, and a little fun,
so I will change the path where I would dread
to go to where I choose, when I am done.

I’ll not be forced into a better scheme
if I can’t see the end result my way
if it’s not part of what my heart can dream
it never will come to the light of day.

All things can change, if I have any voice
in what they are, and I will make the choice.
(Vee Bdosa 2014)

And now I choose to close… and after a busy week, with a spot of tea will relax for a time, contemplating the tomorrows… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin” and the creeks don’t rise..

Saw a single robin, born free, on its way home, wherever destiny sends the robin…

robin

Much like me… 🙂

Decision made, with eyes on the horizon
It’s down the path least traveled I do venture,
Excitement fills the air, a smile on the face
Looking forward to a great adventure.

So my heart’s compass is pointed to the horizon
Sails set full, safe harbor fading in the distance, a faint glow to eye it seems
And with a pocket full of memories, on the horizon are my dreams, you see
So down the path least traveled I will venture, with spirit born free
(Penned by Larry “Dutch” Woller )

They say there’s a place where dreams have all gone
They never said where, but I think I know
It’s miles through the night just over the dawn
On the road that will take me home

I know in my bones, I’ve been here before
The ground feels the same, though the land’s been torn
I’ve a long way to go, the stars tell me so
On this road that will take me home

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
And all our troubles will be gone

And I know what I’ve lost, and all that I’ve won
When the road finally takes me home

And when I pass by, don’t lead me astray
Don’t try and stop me, don’t stand in my way
I’m bound for the hills where the cool waters flow
On the road that will take me home

Love waits for me round the bend
Leads me endlessly on
Surely sorrows shall find their end
And all our troubles will be gone

And I know what I’ve lost and all that I’ve won
When the road finally takes me home
I’m going home, I’m going home, I’m going home

I were asked about my views on friendship… well, again here is thoughts by Adam Clarke..

“Portrait of a Friend”

I can’t give solutions to all of life’s problems, doubts, or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.

I can’t change your past with all it’s heartache and pain, nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can’t keep your feet from stumbling. I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.
Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine; Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask.

I can’t prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me. I can only think of you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can’t give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself.

I can’t keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place.

I can’t tell you who you are or who you will be
I can only love you and be your friend
(Adam Clarke)

And my thoughts..

love plate

A bouquet of flowers from my garden,
Their beauty need not be told,
Their fragrance is soothing and lovely
A pleasant scent for one to behold.

They remind me of you, my dear friend
Whose beauty from within you do share,
Sharing sunshine, understanding and laughter
Sowing the seeds of love and happiness in the air.

This bouquet was picked for you
For coming into my world, my dear friend,
For giving sunshine, laughter, love and happiness
For which I know will never end.

And Abba’s..

Hello Diary,

It is a Tuesdsay and it as been a pleasant week thus far weather wise, getting lots of house cleaning done.. not so pleasant weather last Saturday morning as I got my first taste of winter… ventured outdoors and there were frost on the ground…

frost 4

It were s good thing I were not going anywhere in the auto… 🙂

frost 3

And the roof of the house appeared to have a layer of snow, could almost hear Santa and his reindeer.. 🙂

frost 2

But in spite of the frost and cold, a little volunteer violet decided to set up housekeeping outside my backdoor…

violet

No matter life’s challenges, no matter the circumstances, the little born free violet has the will to live.. reminds me of the little dandelion..

Will to Live
I think of all things that show a zest
For life, the dandelion beats the rest.
The little winged seeds from its white fluff ball
Settle and grow with no urging at all.
Settle in most unlikely places
And soon there’s a crop of dandelion faces.

They are man’s worst pest, but a child’s playthings.
Sometimes I wish I had light down wings
Like a dandelion seed, and could settle at will
On a velvety lawn or a sun-spread hill,
And live with the eagerness and zest
Of the wanton little dandelion pest.
(MARY TRIPLETT)

Well, I had better close and get on with the day.. the sweeper won’t run itself and I don’t have Alexis.. 🙂 but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

“Life is complicated and not contained to a few ideologies or beliefs, therefore in order to better understand the universe, and me, I need to leave safe harbor, with open mind, and explore all of the universe, not just parts of it..…” (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

So, until we meet again…
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
May all the wishes you wish come true
May peace be within you
May your heart be strong
May you find whatever you’re seeking
Wherever you may roam

A quiet morning to wake up to, taking time out in the activities to contemplate the tomorrows…

A quiet morning to wake up to
Sitting, gazing out, with a spot of tea,
Contemplating my tomorrows
Wondering, what will the future be.

A quiet morning, a open mind
Thinking about the path, its mysteries many fold,
Each to explore and treasure
Soon a treasured memory to behold.

A quiet morning, a open heart
Another day to learn and explore about me.
It is my life.. only get one chance
Will have to do it my way.. don’t you see.

A quiet morning, being different
Reminding me of words from a song,
Where do I fit in, one asks
One wonders, where do I belong.

A quiet morning, on the path
At the end of it, on the horizon, a lovely rainbow,
It is there my answers lie… the truth is known
Until then, only Fate will know.

A quiet morning, spirit and mind at the ready
To seek the rainbow… perhaps around the next bend,
Once found, I’ll have my answers, you see
And that will be the beginning, not the end.

rainbow

Hello Diary,

Woke up this morning (fortunately on the green side of the grass, not under it.. 🙂 ) and decided to take time to browse the state of the world.. and, unfortunately I see a world in turmoil, needlessly, for the most part.. BUT, the good news is there are many working tirelessly to help make this world a better place… for there is always hope.. “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.” Emily Dickinson

people of the world

Hope is a feather floating in a bright blue sky
Hope is that sparkle that shines in your eyes.
Hope is a butterfly fluttering on the wind
Hope is good times spent with family and friends.

Hope is a newborn baby’s cry
Hope is a Mother’s lullaby.
Hope is the rainbow after a rain
Hope is the harvest of golden grain.

Hope is the light that keeps darkness at bay
Hope is the breeze on a hot summer day.
Hope is ever present and free of cost
Hope is the last thing ever lost.

Hope is staying positive when the going gets tough
Hope is seeking help when you feel you’ve had enough.
Hope is recovery from simmering sorrow
Hope is believing in a brighter tomorrow.
(Linda Hotger)

And there is a dream…

World-Peace

The new year is rapidly approaching
As I contemplate the tomorrow,
Leaving some memories filled with happiness
A few memories filled with sorrow.

I peer out my window
At a world cold and bleak,
A world of conflict, anger and hate
Mortals are suffering as I speak.

But we have a dream
All my friends and I,
That one day there will be peace
No more mortals will die.

And there will be hope
Of a world filled with love one day,
A wish that could come true
For hope is the last to die…they say.

Not a world of race, color or gender
Nor closed minded ridicule or prejudice…you see,
But a world that respects another’s dream
Of what or who they wish to be.

So I peer out the window
Not with sadness, fear or sorrows,
But a heart filled with a dream of love and peace
For a world and all its tomorrows.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Well, I had better close for now…venture on down the path and do what I can to help make this world a better place…but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise..

“I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Stephen Grellet

“Everyday I have two choices, either to venture into the light, follow one’s dreams and live life, or stay in the shadows, the darkness and never know happiness…” (Larry “Dutch” Woller) on the path least travled….

Yes, it is the season of change on the path…

To become memories.. “Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown)..

As the dawn approaches
One contemplates not the day,
But all the years of memories and thoughts
That one acquired along the way.

Some filled with sadness, sorrow perhaps
Some with happiness, joy and without fear,
Some to bring out the laughter
Some to bring out a tear.

A special day and one to treasure
And not because of the calendar age,
Because the book of memories and thoughts
Will be adding another page!

Even though a distance and time apart
It will be a day that we will share,
Our love and understanding knows no time or distance
Be assured, have no doubt, I will be there!

It will become our memory, and we will share
Today, and every day…… forever,
Because of our free spirit eternal
Beyond…………. the 12th of Never!!
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)

But love is ever present and knows no time….

Hello Diary,

It is a pleasant day here on the prairies, with clouds drifting to their destiny….

sky

A quiet day to pause for contemplation in a time of change, as one follows one’s dreams, living one’s life, not someone else’s… “When someone tells you “you’ve changed”, it might be because you have stopped living your life their way”.. (John Pence)

A quiet Tuesday morning, on the path
At the end of it, on the horizon, a lovely rainbow,
It is there my answers lie… the truth is known
Until then, only Fate will know.

A quiet Tuesday morning, spirit and mind at the ready
To seek the rainbow… perhaps around the next bend,
Once found, I’ll have my answers, you see
And that will be the beginning, not the end.

The air is filled with excitement as summer prepares to take it’s farewell bow for the year… saw a squirrel (in the upper right hand corner) scurrying about preparing for winter while living and enjoying life…

squirrel and leaves

And not all change is outdoors.. as I prepare for fall cleaning made a few changes in one of the rooms and created a den of sorts for meditation, painting/coloring etc and also for Spanish class (haven’t been to school in awhile.. 🙂 )…. “Any piece of knowledge I acquire today has a value at this moment exactly proportioned to my skill to deal with it. Tomorrow, when I know more, I will recall that piece of knowledge and use it better. “ Mark van Doren

den

And change does not mean the end… “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stopped the story.” (Frank Herbert ).. have a little laptop that I will not be able to use online, makes an excellent stereo in my little den…

stero laptop

Cannot play a CD on the little laptop but I have a multitude so I purchased a small recorder, used the CD player, posted on a flashdrive and downloaded on the little laptop..now I have hours of music in the little den… clever, eh?!.. 🙂

Speaking of recycling, I had a friend, June “Chris” Clark (she passed away in 2014, age 87 and lived in Skendleby, Lincolnshire, UK) who I had the honor of meeting online in the year 2000… we shared poetry and life in our world’s seen through our eyes.. In the fall, she would collect the various leaves, stems, etc of the plants as the plants were dying off and preparing for winter… during the winter, she would gather glue and paper and make nature’s art.. She sent me this picture she made one Christmas..

jc picture 1

The picture is 12 inches (304.8 MM) by 14 inches (355.6 MM) and handmade….

Well, I had better close for now.. thought I would share a few thoughts about life and nature’s change here on the path… some new adventures on the horizon… But I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂

“Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow remains a mystery, today is a new adventure. Greet it with open arms, a open heart, a open mind and a smile. Enjoy it because it won’t come again.” (Larry “Dutch“ Woller )

Yes, the yesterdays have become memories, making way for new memories… Ahhhhhhhhhh, but those were the days, my friend… 🙂
