Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..just letting the heart do the talking while the fingers do the walking while being different, being me… 🙂
( “I do not do, say or write something to been seen or heard… I do, say or write something because it needed to be done, said or written…” , no nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life 🙂 )
“Becoming free is learning about yourself; the scared and the insecure, the brilliant and the bold. Embrace both and the journey is yours and yours alone. No longer are you following another’s directions and your path and purpose will present themselves. Only then might you find another wandering soul doing the same thing, who can walk with you but on their own journey. All of a sudden you might find a shared passion and a wrinkled map on the trail that makes sense.” Riitta Klint
Different…..
How are we so “different”?
If “different” is just a thing.
If we all have certain features,
What does “different” bring?
People filled with hatred,
Can’t possibly see,
That there’s not really “differences”
Between you and me.
Looks can’t show “difference”,
If they’re just there to be seen.
If you don’t look like someone else,
Why are they so mean?
If being “different” is what is wrong,
I’d rather not be right.
And I’d want to finish living,
Doing the “different” fight.

Hello Diary,
It is a Thursday morning, a bit gloomy outdoors at the moment.. have been busy with changes and thought I would take a break from activities and share a few thoughts.. on Monday morning received word from Microsoft that as of January 2020 they will no longer support Windows 7… sooooooooo, at some point in the future, I will need to get a new PC with Windows 10… I had made changes in the house to help my late wife, Kathy, deal with cancer and decided if I need to change PC’s I will make changes in the house also, then I can gradually put the old into history and start using the new… 🙂
With the weather not being very pleasant to be outdoors, took the last 3 to 4 days to change things in the house, moving things from one room into another, so have been busy and the house in a bit of a mess… 🙂
Managed to move the electronics without a great deal of interruption…
So now will just have to organize a bit to finish up until the final change in the future with the new PC… and while changing things, doing chores, etc some words by Rose Milligan came to mind.. 🙂
Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
to paint a picture, or write a letter,
bake a cake, or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.
Dust if you must, but there is not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear, and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world’s out there
with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
this day will not come round again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go, and go you must,
you, yourself, will make more dust!
(Rose Milligan)
But change is needed “For time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.” (John F. Kennedy) and here on the path are preparing for the future… and change is taking place outdoors in spite of the weather… neighbors had some white wild violets..
The backyard here on the path had some blue wild violets…
Much to the delight of insects (especially the bees) and other creatures, including me… also, thought considered a pest by many for being different, the dandelion were out in force…
And those butterflies will have the undivided attention of butterflies, bees and other insects along with children and those mortals who make dandelion wine… 🙂 I always wondered what it would be like to be a free and adventuresome dandelion… 🙂
Will to Live
I think of all things that show a zest
For life, the dandelion beats the rest.
The little winged seeds from its white fluff ball
Settle and grow with no urging at all.
Settle in most unlikely places
And soon there’s a crop of dandelion faces.
They are man’s worst pest, but a child’s playthings.
Sometimes I wish I had light down wings
Like a dandelion seed, and could settle at will
On a velvety lawn or a sun-spread hill,
And live with the eagerness and zest
Of the wanton little dandelion pest.
(MARY TRIPLETT)
Well, I had better close… organize a bit today, perhaps mow and work in the gardens tomorrow before the rains return the weekend… then I can return to chasing rainbows.. “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stopped the story.” ― (Frank Herbert), but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….
Busy as a bee the last few days but ready to return to the hive and enjoy the bare necessities… 🙂
Chorus; Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature’s recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home
The bees are buzzin’ in the tree
To make some honey just for me
When you look under the rocks and plants
And take a glance at the fancy ants
Then maybe try a few
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!
Chorus;
Now when you pick a pawpaw
Or a prickly pear
And you prick a raw paw
Next time beware
Don’t pick the prickly pear by the paw
When you pick a pear
Try to use the claw
But you don’t need to use the claw
When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw
Have I given you a clue ?
The bare necessities of life will come to you
They’ll come to you!
So just try and relax, yeah cool it
Fall apart in my backyard
‘Cause let me tell you something little britches
If you act like that bee acts, uh uh
You’re working too hard
And don’t spend your time lookin’ around
For something you want that can’t be found
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin’ about it
I’ll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you
