“Life gives us brief moments with another, but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a lifetime, So live that your memories will be part of your happiness.” (Author Unknown) on the path least traveled…

Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..just letting the heart do the talking while the fingers do the walking while being different, being me… 🙂 Me 1 copy

( “I do not do, say or write something to been seen or heard… I  do, say or write something because it needed to be done, said or written…” ,  no nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life  🙂 ).. 🙂

Yes, life gives us moments with another and I have had the good fortune to have moments, and memories, with many world over….  “A friend may be waiting behind a stranger’s face.”  ― (Maya Angelou)..   🙂

Not just another day, dear friend
For in spite of time, distance or whatever,
If only in spirit, thought and dreams
We will be sharing the day together.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
To share thoughts of love, hope..perhaps a tear,
And by going down the path together in friendship
Doing away with hate, anger….and fear.

Not a friendship of race, color or gender
Nor of closed minded prejudice...you see,
But a friendship that respects another’s dream
Of what or who they wish to be.

A friendship filled with hope and dreams
With minds that are at peace,
Surrounded by love and happiness
That sooths the spirit, to say the least.

The warm sun reminds me of you, my friend
Whose beauty from within you do share,
Sharing sunshine, understanding and laughter
Sowing the seeds of love and happiness in the air.

A special day and one to treasure
And not because of the calendar age,
Because to the book of fond memories
We will be adding another page

So, have a wonderful day, dear friend
Wishing you all the best, nothing less,
May today, every day, AND your heart
Be filled…...with love and happiness.

So thanks for the memories.. 🙂 Hello Diary, Had a heavy frost this morning in spite of everything appearing green and near summer, it looked like a light snow… 🙂

And as I gaze upon the frost while sipping on some tea, the heart opens up the book of memories of history’s past here at home… there was my late wife Kathy, she was my partner and friend for 51 years before Fate (in the form of cancer) sent her to her final destiny… 🙂

And there were the kids, who have since scattered to the winds in search of their dreams.. “You are evidence of your mother’s strength… especially if you are a rebellious knucklehead and regardless, she has always maintained her sanity.” (Criss Jami)… 🙂

And there were Miss Daisy (she passed on just before Kathy)… a Jack Russell who was a die hard couch potato.. 🙂

And there was little Bree (she passed on 5 years ago), a Jack Russell, independent, who believed every minute was an adventure and left no stone unturned… when I brought her home she were 6 months old and I was her fourth owner.. She was 14 years old when she passed away.. 🙂

I remember one time when I were preparing the turkey…. 🙂

I twas working on the turkey
When here arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the kitchen
To see what was the matter.

I ventured to the living room
And there, to my surprise, I did see,
Standing nose to nose, paw to paw
Was the Christmas mouse and Bree.

With spatula in hand, ENOUGH, I yelled
With a voice loud and clear,
So that the Christmas mouse and Bree
 Scattered, they did, in fear.

It was back to the kitchen and the turkey
No thoughts of sugar plums, dancing in my head,
But thoughts of a Thanksgiving TV dinner
Cooking in the microwave instead………
      ( Larry “Dutch” Woller)

Yes, those moments have become memories, locked in the heart for when I grow to old to dream and my heart will go on… 🙂
I had better close for now… shared a few memories and preparing for more adventures that await me and friends to share thoughts with, so I can gather more memories… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…. 🙂

Until we meet again..

May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.

  1. “A friend may be waiting behind a stranger’s face.” That is so true, and we miss many opportunities by letting people’s looks or dress get in the way of simple friendship.
Jack Russell terriers, by the way, were bred in northern England to go down rabbit holes and flush out the occupants. That might help explain any quirks in behaviour.

    • Thank you for visiting!!… I agree with you about friendship… believe the little dogs were also used for badger and fox dens… they may be small but they have the heart of a lion…. 🙂

    • Thank you for visiting!.. glad you liked the video, Bree love to chase the light… I remember the time when we had a power outage and I had to use a flashlight, but that’s another story… 🙂

I had at one time thought about getting another dog but with the world as it is, in all fairness to the dog and my family, I decided not to…. 🙂

      Until we meet again…
      May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
      Brightened by a song
      in your heart,
      And warmed by the smiles
      of people you love.

      • Well, while I do not dwell on health or dying, I am growing older and the chances of something happening to me to make me unable to physically care for another creature increases every day… I live in a small village on the prairies and I do not drive anymore (that is another story) and another reason for caring for another difficult.. And if something would happen to disable me in some manner, caring for my dog would fall on someone else and may be a hardship on them… 🙂

At this time I can deal with today’s challenges as best I can without having the worry about the well being and care of a dog, cat, etc leaving me able to concentrate fully on those challenges… 🙂

Weighing all the pros and cons and dealing with reality, getting another dog at this point in my life would be a selfish act on my part and not in the best interest of anyone, especially the dog… 🙂
