Here in the not so secret garden, the only weapon used is love… 🙂

I live in a not so secret garden
Along the path least traveled,
Quite unlike the other world
A world that has become unraveled.

A garden of peace and harmony
Being different does not matter here,
All creatures, big and small, living together
Unlike the other world, they do not live in fear.

Together we live the hand that Fate has dealt us
Not sure, or dwell, on our final destiny,
But live to enjoy the moment, the hour, the day
That is what life is about, don’t you see.

So into the not so secret garden I will venture
Along the path least traveled,
To find love, understanding, to follow one’s dreams
Unlike the other world unraveled.

Hello Diary,

Thought I would stop in briefly and share a few thoughts, have been away from the world of cyberspace for a few days, had some technical issues to deal with, but managed to overcome.. 🙂

While I were away from cyberspace, I saw that the USA were leaving Afghanistan and life there were back in turmoil , little has changed.. 🙂

Another example of elements of the world’s societies unable to reach a middle ground, compromise through understanding and chose, instead, conflict to settle issues.. and in the end, all that were accomplished were sowing the seeds of hate, anger, suffering and despair… 🙂

Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not “the sharpest tack in the box”, but I have a suggestion… 🙂

I set here looking at the news
The powers wanted peace they say,
And while they spoke, bombs were dropped
20 children died that day!

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give PEACE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

Smiles on their faces, while shaking hands
Arms deals for defense would come into play,
A bomb went off in a crowded market
10 children died that day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give a world with LOVE a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die

A war to end all wars, they said
Yet to war they always return,
Death, destruction, suffering and pain
Won’t they every learn?

What’s wrong with this idea?
Let’s give UNDERSTANDING a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Anger versus anger, hate versus hate
Seeds sown by war at home and away,
Starvation , sickness, a mother in tears
More and more children die every day.

What’s wrong with this idea?
Why not give PEACE, LOVE and UNDERSTANDING a try,
Let’s give it a go, everyone
Maybe no more children will die.

Well, I had better close for now.. prepare for the next weather event, a hot and humid wave coming this weekend… may have to make a few adjustments  but life, and the heart, will go on… I shall return again one day, Fate ( and technology) be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…. 🙂

Until we meet again…

May your spirit only know peace
May your heart only know love
May all your dreams come true
May your life’s journey be filled with happiness
And life is all that you wish for it to be….
                       (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

  1. Beautiful post, Dutch. Your final selection by the Lennon Sisters touched my heartstrings. If we continue along our path of self-destructive ways, I fear that wars will only end when there is no one left to wage them and nothing left to destroy or covet.

May flowers always line your path
      and sunshine light your way,
      May songbirds serenade your
      every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.

  2. Two of your best poems there, well done!
We British have fought five wars with Afghanistan since 1839, including a tribal rebellion in 1944-1947. Nobody seems to have learnt from that bit of history.
The Afghans weren’t worth any British or American lives, or anybody else’s come to that. They are happy to live in the Middle Ages, so leave them. It’s only the women and children I feel sorry for.

    • Thank you for stopping by and kind words!!.. well, not all Afghan’s wish to live in the Middle Ages and I can assure you there are plenty Americans that do… the problem is those closed minded elements (usually faith based) who wish to live in the past and refuse to accept another’s wishes and beliefs and will resort to conflict if necessary and end up involving everyone.. another good example is the Middle East… I believe when they formed the League of Nations (now the United Nations) they said “World War 1 would be the war to end all wars”, we see how well that is working… 🙂

Hope all is well in your part of the universe and life is all that you wish for it to be…

      Until we meet again,
      May you always be blessed
      with walls for the wind,
      a roof for the rain,
a warm cup of tea by the fire,
      laughter to cheer you,
      those you love near you,
and all that your heart might desire.

  3. I could relate to you saying you’re not the sharpest tack, as I feel the same way – I tend to process things slowly, but slow is often deep and wide, we look more carefully for possible peaceful solutions and appreciate the not so secret gardens. We need more gardens. Thank you always, Larry, for spreading your vision of peace, love, and understanding.
