( “I do not do, say or write something to been seen or heard… I do, say or write something because it needed to be done, said or written…” , no nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life 🙂 ).. 🙂
Yes, “It is not easy to find happiness within ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.” (Agnes Repplier ) so I choose to be happy being me, even if it makes me different… 🙂
And why do I wish to be different, you may ask, The freedom to choose, to explore, to learn a lot, Dictated to by a prophet chained to a myth…. NOT Maybe so everyone can shout and point at me, And say, “Hey, he’s different”, don’t you see. Not another like me, I am one of a kind Don’t always fit in, with most society’s thought and mind, But will sail against the current, pull on Superman’s cape, Spit into the wind, with courage face adversity with glee, How and why?... because I am are different, don’t you see. My mind is clear and open, gathering knowledge every day My spirit is young, adventuresome and floating free, Not confined by those social chains, no box, no mold for me I am what I am, I am me, what I wish to be, Perhaps that makes me different, don’t you see. So my heart’s compass is pointed to the horizon Sails set full, safe harbor fading in the distance, a faint glow to eye it seems And with a pocket full of memories, on the horizon are my dreams On down the path least traveled I will venture, with spirit free Why the path least traveled?..well, I’m different, don’t you see. ( Larry “Dutch” Woller )And in spite of challenges being different may bring, there is happiness within because of a heart and spirit born free, being me… 🙂
Hello Diary,
In spite of the storms of conflict, illness, climate change, I venture down the path without fear because “I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.” (Louisa May Alcott) and as I gaze upon the horizon (photo take last summer) contemplating what adventures await me…. 🙂
And I asked myself “When Is The Right Time?”…. 🙂 To climb a mountain To fly a plane, To hug a friend To run naked in the rain. To stand up tall To make your thoughts known, To blend with a crowd To go it alone. To till the field To sow the seeds of peace and more, To pen a poem of love To write a musical score. To take this path To maybe take the other, To open ones heart To share it with another. Today, tomorrow perhaps? The answer is in the heart, you see, So when is the right time, one asks? When your heart wishes for it to be.. ( Larry “Dutch” Woller ).Yes, only the heart and time holds the answer… 🙂
And now the heart is telling me it is time to close as there are adventures waiting, more memories to be had… but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise… 🙂
Yes, even though conflict, illness, climate change, etc. are presenting dark days at the moment, we shall see brighter days because we know our love will see us through, knowing our dreams lie ahead, somewhere in time… 🙂
Love your poem “When Is The Right Time?”

Thank you for stopping by and glad you enjoyed your visit!!… 🙂
Until we meet again..
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

“Dictated to by a prophet chained to a myth”…that covers a heck of a lot of people. What a waste of a life to be like that. Living out somebody else’s rules.

Thank you for stopping by!!.. yes, there are plenty of “myths” out there… nothing wrong with believing in something but perhaps Mother Angelica says it best; “When we begin to build walls of prejudice, hatred, pride, and self-indulgence around ourselves, we are more surely imprisoned than any prisoner behind concrete walls and iron bars.” (Mother Angelica)… 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe and life is all that you wish for it to be!… 🙂

I’ve waited a long time to grow into myself. It’s almost too late. Maybe it’s time to settle.

Thank you for stopping by!!.. it is never too late!…“Every morning your have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams, or wake up and chase them.” (Author Unknown).. as for me “ I am currently attending the School of Life, learning more about the universe and me… and Graduation Day will be the day of my funeral and it is then I will know if I failed or I succeeded and graduated”… (Larry “Dutch” Woller)…. 🙂
Until we meet again..
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true

I’m still becoming my own person, and I’m okay with that. If I didn’t think I needed to make any changes, that would be a problem. Progress is good.

Beautiful and inspiring poems! I love the affirmation in these lines: “My mind is clear and open, gathering knowledge every day/ My spirit is young, adventuresome and floating free,/ Not confined by those social chains, no box, no mold for me… ” Since my retirement, this is more true than ever before. Thank you for reminding me of my gratitude. I love the songs, too. Didn’t remember “Somewhere in Time” having lyrics, but they too make me grateful for love that transcends time. I wish you much love and the best of times to come!

The world makes it so hard to do the simplest thing: be ourselves. I agree that it is always best; this is always the right way.
Thank you (as always) for such beautiful poetry ❤

To be yourself is to love yourself. Love yourself as the quote by Oscar Wilde reminds us “Be yourself everyone else is already taken “

May flowers always line your path
and sunshine light your way,
May songbirds serenade your
every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.
