Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..just letting the heart do the talking while the fingers do the walking… 🙂
( “I do not do, say or write something to been seen or heard… I do, say or write something because it needed to be done, said or written…” , no nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life 🙂 )
Ole Man Winter or not, for the residents here on the path, a touch of spring is in the air in spirit… 🙂
I’m watching the sun come up
With a spot of tea in my hand,
Thoughts passing like a gentle breeze
As I gaze upon the land.
Thinking about my garden
As I watch the squirrels at play,
Will this be a good year?
With nature being kind…day by day.?
Or will it be like last year
A struggle both day and night,
Hoping for a better day
With every morning’s light.
Love is in the air
Carried by a gentle breeze,
In the notes of a birds song
As the melody,..genlty,.. drifts through the trees.
The time has come to make ready
To plan and to prepare,
Even though it’s cool outside
A taste of spring, and love, is in the air!
Or is it just me…………..
(Larry “Dutch” Woller, )
Hello Diary,
It is a Tuesday and the sun is shining… fortunate to not have any severe storms over the weekend but did have wind speeds near Category 1 Hurricane winds… but that too did pass and even though ole Man Winter is still in town, the residents of the path are thinking spring.. have seen a few migratory birds, a small flock of geese, and residents here preparing for spring and to follow their dreams… 🙂
The squirrels have been out and about in numbers…
And chasing each other, using the backyard as an obstacle course… 🙂
However, not everyone was in full spring spirit… remember our lovebirds, Diary?..
Well, this morning the number one priority were waiting for the sun to come up to get warm, no time for amore (don’t you just hate it when that happens.. 🙂 )….
While on the subject of love and following ones dreams, I have been cruising cyberspace and the news and it appears there are those, unfortunately, who are having a difficult time dealing with change and following their dreams… well, following ones dreams and living life is not always easy.. “Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. it’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.” – Barack Obama
Perhaps sometimes “One cannot cherish success unless one has known failure, one cannot cherish happiness unless one has known sorrow, one cannot cherish love unless one has known heartache.”
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)
Well, when life appears to be at the darkest, remembers some words from Maya Angelou; “I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.” (Maya Angelou) and “No matter the pain or suffering, it is always better if it’s a burden shared by two, instead of a weight carried by one alone”… (Larry “Dutch” Woller)
Or, if one has a belief (religious or otherwise) there is a saying; “ God promised you a safe landing, he did not say the journey was going to be a smooth one”….
And it is especially difficult when one is confronted by those with a closed mind and heart… just remember “One’s dignity may be assaulted, vandalized and cruelly mocked, but it can never be taken away unless it is surrendered.” (Michael J. Fox).. And remember this “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” ― Bernard M. Baruch
Listen to your heart, follow your dreams and “When you are truly inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project… your mind transcends its limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world! Then those dormant forces, faculties and talents inside you become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” Patanjali “
Well, I had better venture on down the path.. have some dreams of my own and destiny is out there somewhere waiting for me… but I shall return again one day, Diary, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…
Remember Dairy, the road of life may be a bit bumpy but don’t let others determine your life for “It is not easy to find happiness within ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.” (Agnes Repplier) so always listen to your heart and “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird, that cannot fly.” ( Langston Hughes )
Wonderful, uplifting post, Dutch – thank you. I particularly love that Barack Obama quote 👍

Thank you for stopping by and glad that you enjoyed your visit… 🙂
“You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. After all, what’s a life, anyway? We’re born, we live a little while, we die. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Goodness knows anyone’s life can stand a little of that. E.B. White, Charlotte’s Web

Thank you for visiting… something to keep in mind but not dwell on… 🙂
Oh, the yesterdays are over my shoulder
So I can’t look back for too long
There’s just too much to see waiting in front of me
And I know that I just can’t go wrong
With these changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same. (Jimmy Buffet)

Great quotes and a wonderful poem, Larry. We’re still experiencing winter wonderland here our our little corner of the globe… But love and spring are sure to follow! ❤ Blessings and love, my friend.
