Portrait of a friend and hope on the path least traveled….

Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..

Me 1 copy

(No nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life 🙂 ).

A tongue can accuse and carry bad news
The seeds of distrust, it can sow,
So unless you know the truth, that it is not hearsay
Be careful of stones that you throw.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller 6-10-2008)

Hello Diary,

A Sunday morning, bit on the warm and humid side… a relaxing day planned… it came to my attention that there are folks in cyberspace who would like to nominate me for this and that… while I am honored that one would feel my thoughts are worthy of such a honor, it is not my intention to share thoughts for such purposes so I will respectfully decline any nominations, etc… 🙂
“I do not do, say or write something to been seen or heard… I do, say or write something because it needed to be done, said or written…” (Larry “Dutch” Woller)

That being said, a few more thoughts on a Sunday morning….

Contemplate and Wonder…

A peaceful Sunday Morning, watching the sun arise
Thoughts abound, while sipping on a spot of tea,
While taking in Nature’s summer portrait
Contemplating, on what Fate may have instore for me.

Change is slowly coming, it whispers in the winds
The door is slowly closing on past history,
With a new awakening with the mind and spirit
But the future is still shrouded in mystery.

With the freedom of being different, in many ways
No social shackles do this mortal wear,
Do welcome change with open mind and spirit
No fear, no worry or dread do I bear.

Does change stop at mortal death, one wonders
Or does it go on forever and ever,
Will I ask the same at another time and place
Somewhere past the 12th of Never?

Will thought and spirit continue
When, as in all things, time comes to an end,
Or does all things cease to be when
To the grave, the mortal body Fate does send.

Alas, but must deal with the present, this Sunday
So now will store thoughts and musings yet to be told,
For it’s down the path least traveled I do venture
To search and hopefully find….what life, and Fate, may behold.

( Larry “Dutch” Woller )

It has also come to my attention that I am not the only one on the path least traveled that likes flowers… it seems this mother cardinal likes flowers so well she set up housekeeping… 🙂

Looks like it will be some time before I can water it… 🙂 back indoors, slowly moving things around, bringing the past to a closer and came across this crossstitch picture my late wife had started…

I told her I would finish it (yes I can sew some.. 🙂 ) so looks like I have something to do when the snow is falling… I also came across this picture I had made using a scrollsaw…

The sword is made from oak and the dragons are made of walnut… many years ago I use to operate a small woodworking shop in my garage and I would make different things unique and sell them in this country and other countries… at one time I even had a website..

But I no longer have the shop due to lack of interest, trying to save the trees, etc… sometimes I will do something here for me, I still have the tools… getting away from nostalgia for a bit, I have been ask what I thought the definition of a “friend” were.. Well, I believe that Adam Clarke said it best;

“Portrait of a Friend”

I can’t give solutions to all of life’s problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.

I can’t change your past with all it’s heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can’t keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.

I can’t prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only think of you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can’t give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.

I can’t keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.

I can’t tell you who you are or who you will be
I can only love you and be your friend
(Adam Clarke)

While there is positivity, dreams, a open heart and a open mind on the path least traveled, we also have HOPE, for hope is the last to die, don’t you see…

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul – and sings the tunes without the words – and never stops at all.” Emily Dickinson

I believe that Linda Hotger has some thoughts about hope;

Hope is a feather floating in a bright blue sky
Hope is that sparkle that shines in your eyes.
Hope is a butterfly fluttering on the wind
Hope is good times spent with family and friends.

Hope is a newborn baby’s cry
Hope is a Mother’s lullaby.
Hope is the rainbow after a rain
Hope is the harvest of golden grain.

Hope is the light that keeps darkness at bay
Hope is the breeze on a hot summer day.
Hope is ever present and free of cost
Hope is the last thing ever lost.

Hope is staying positive when the going gets tough
Hope is seeking help when you feel you’ve had enough.
Hope is recovery from simmering sorrow
Hope is believing in a brighter tomorrow.

Linda Hotger

Well, I had better close for now, pack up the dreams, hope, etc and venture own down the path least traveled, but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise..

Will close with Enya sharing some thoughts about hope;

One look at love and you may see
It weaves a web over mystery,
All ravelled threads can rend apart
For hope has a place in the lover’s heart.
Hope has a place in a lover’s heart.

Whispering world, a sigh of sighs,
The ebb and the flow of the ocean tides.
One breath, one word may end or may start
A hope in a place of the lover’s heart.
Hope has a place in a lover’s heart.

Look to love you may dream,
And if it should leave then give it wings.
But if such a love is meant to be;
Hope is home, and the heart is free

Under the heavens we journey far,
On roads of life we’re the wanderers,
So let love rise, so let love depart,
Let hope have a place in the lover’s heart.
Hope has a place in a lover’s heart.

Look to love and you may dream,
And if it should leave then give it wings.
But if such a love is meant to be;
Hope is home, and the heart is free.
Hope is home, and the heart is free.

  1. I read your blog and discovered two new things about you today. Apart from your mastery with pen and paper and your obvious green fingers, two new skills came to light- sewing and carpentry. You truly are an inspirational person.

    • Thank you for visiting and your kind words!… I just put my fingers on the keyboard and let my heart do the writing… 🙂 as for inspirational, armed with hope, knowledge, faith in yourself and beliefs and guided by your heart, just follow your dreams and you cannot go wrong… 🙂

  2. Ϝreelancing can even end in an enormous “plus” regarding your income.
    Instead of getting to settle for the specifіc salary thats
    provided by the one leɡisⅼation firm that you work, you have got an excessive amount of leeway in setting your own pay rates.
    This issue may end uρ in considerably more cash for you.

    • I do agree… I believe the big plus is the many options that freelancing would give a person in all areas, not just the money part… 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!..
