Diary of the journey on the path least traveled..
(No nominations please, just sharing thoughts while exploring life 🙂 ).
“I have a greater peace of mind by being straightforward and truthful about myself and letting the chips fall where they may, rather than to wake up tomorrow morning and have to deal with a falsehood I told yesterday.” (Larry Woller 7-30-2017.)
“You can talk with someone for years, everyday, and still, it won’t mean as much as what you can have when you sit in front of someone, not saying a word, yet you feel that person with your heart, you feel like you have known the person for forever “ C. JoyBell C.
Hello Diary,
It is the first of the week, Diary, and it appears to be a rainy week instore…. taking time out from life’s adventures to leave few thoughts… I had been chatting about the gardens, thought I would I would give a brief look at the world outside the gardens…. 🙂 I live in a small village (population 800, depending on how many people were on vacation or in jail when the count were taken.. 🙂 ) in the prairies of Illinois, USA… the pictures were taken on the north edge of town (about 3 blocks from my home)…
As I were getting ready to leave the house, I had seen a hawk had stopped in for a snack… 🙂
All the little sparrows were safely inside the little brush pile I had near the feeder… I expect the hawk were perched there thinking “ curses, foiled again “… 🙂 and while on pictures, a little about the weather… below you will see a picture ( I did not take the picture) of dark cloud with streaks hanging below it….
That is what is known as virga ( pronounced “ver-ga) which is basically rain evaporating before it makes it to the ground…. In the following picture that I did take, you will see a similar cloud only the cloud and streaks are white…
The atmosphere here had cooled down some the past few days and instead of producing virga, it produced what is called “falls streak”, which is ice crystals or more commonly called “snow”… so yes, one could say that, unofficially, it did snow here in July… 🙂 while on the subject of the weather, were a rainy type day for Monday, decided that soup were in order, did not wish to do much cooking, so I got a can of chicken noodle soup, chopped some frozen broccoli, cauliflower and already cooked chicken…
Combined the veggies, soup and chicken all together and got hearty chicken noodle soup…
Put in the microwave to heat…clever, eh?.. 🙂 not sure what I will eat today… getting away from the weather and food, as you know, Diary, I had written a Country Boy poem… well, I were ask about a Country Girl poem… in history’s past, I did write a Country Girl poem and I believe perhaps there is a little country in every girl… 🙂
A Wish For the Country Girl..
My wish for the Country Girl
May her spirit always be free,
May her life be full of happiness
Laughter in her world will always be.
May her heart never know pain
No sorrow will her heart find,
To witness each and everyday with..
A open heart and peace of mind…
And when her mortal days are over
And to another life she will surely go,
She will be greeted by friends and loved ones
Trouble and suffering, she will no longer know…
This is my wish for the Country Girl
For she is a friend, don’t you see,
And with each and everyday, I hope and wish
That a friend, she will forever be..
(Penned by Larry “ Dutch” Woller 2/6/2008)
Well, I had better close for now, the adventures are calling and I don’t want to miss the chance at making more memories… but I shall return again one day, Diary, fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….
In leaving, this is among my favorite Enya songs and it is for all the lovers and loved ones who find themselves apart and also all the children world over who, because of man’s inhumanity towards man, found themselves separated from their mothers….
Lovely verses

I like the down to earth message in your writing and how you notice the beautiful details in nature. Your poem reminded me of growing up in Maryland, I miss the birds singing in fruit trees and the blinking fireflies at night.
