Diary from the path least traveled..
Hello Diary,
Another Saturday morning (listening to Andre Rieu and his orchestra playing the “Rose”) and unlike last Saturday, back to a cold, gloomy wintry type morning…
At least it was not like one morning last week when I woke up to this…. 🙂
But it is still a good morning as I did wake up on the green side of the grass and looking forward to exploring whatever life, and Fate, displays in front of me and what may lie ahead on down the path….with it being wintry and the weeks work done, decided yesterday to recycle used pages from a copier and other sources and turn them into note pads…
Once the note pads have been used once again, will put the used notes in my compost been…the one thing that cold temperatures can stop is love, as I saw two doves setting on the fence…
They were not there very long before venturing off to a more secluded place I suspect… 🙂 however, I saw one dove setting on some decorative stones who probably was not in a loving mood….. 🙂
He was no doubt concentrating on the cold and perhaps thinking he took the wrong exit at Atlanta, GA…. 🙂 but no doubt love will in the end persevere winter or not, even for that cold, lonesome dove…. And while on the subject of love, will leave with a poem I wrote and some thoughts by others…..
A Kipling I know I’m not
I know that from the start,
No eloquent words here, my love
Just words of love from the heart.
Nothing cute or fancy, sweetheart
No false charmers words here,
But words of undying love for you, my darling
From my heart, my very spirit, my dear.
Couldn’t find the words for some time
Searched every book and song,
Until that wonderful precious day
That you, my love, happened along.
Now that I have the words, my love
What’s this ole country boy to do,
How will these arthritic hands, my love
Say those precious words to you.
It will have to be done right, you know
And I know I will find a way,
To say how much I Love You more
With every heartbeat, each and every day.
There will be no falsehoods or lies for you, dear one
No meaningless empty words, cute or clever,
For I would rather you love me for just one day
Than to hate this ole country boy forever.

“Love myself I do. Not everything, but I love the good as well as the bad. I love my crazy lifestyle, and I love my hard discipline. I love my freedom of speech and the way my eyes get dark when I’m tired. I love that I have learned to trust people with my heart, even if it will get broken. I am proud of everything that I am and will become.” Johnny Weir
“If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they’re yours; if they don’t they never were. “ Richard Bach
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality… I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.” Kinky Friedman
That being said, it is HI HO HI HO on down that path I go, the air filled with love, excitement and wonder as one contemplates what may be around the next bend…but I shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise….
What is need now is a day of sunshine and a day without snow or rain, right Enya??… 🙂
