Frost, a taste of spring and Enya on the path least traveled…

Diary from the path least traveled..

Hello Diary,

Just turned in my weekly bird observations to the Cornell University Lab of Omithology (the study of birds, they use the info to help study and learn about climate change, etc..) and thought I would pop in briefly and share a few thoughts… unlike Saturdays of the past, this morning were filled with sunshine and light breeze (though ccool)…(picture taken from my office window this morning)..

My “office” is a quiet area filled with plants (live and imitation), thoughts, dreams, rainbows and a path for me to enter the outside world, a garden that only I enter, so I guess it could be called “my secret garden”… 🙂

Temperatures are starting to moderate a bit and beginning to seem a bit like spring and starting to see a few of the migratory birds, geese, grackles, etc and in fact saw my first robin yesterday…

Unfortunately, winter is still here as can been seen by the moderate frost yesterday morning….my neighbors house look a great deal like mine with the roof looking like a light snow…

It is also a good time to see who has good insulation in the attic and who doesn’t …following is a picture of another neighbors house taken a few minutes after the previous picture…

no frost on roof

Don’t have to be a Einstein to know who pays the higher heating bill… 🙂 … ventured to the VA for my annual doctors appointment, all is well, won’t have to return for another year unless something happens….my finger nails got rave reviews and had to share with the ladies as to how I take care of them… 🙂 …stopped by the cemetery and left flowers for Easter (my late wife has a number of ladies present to keep her company… 🙂 )…

And speaking of spring, perhaps now would be a good time to share a poem I wrote…:)

I’m watching the sun come up
With coffee in my hand,
Thoughts passing like a gentle breeze
As I gaze upon the land.

Thinking about my garden
As I watch the squirrels at play,
Will this be a good year?
With nature being kind…day by day.?

Or will it be like last year
A struggle both day and night,
Hoping for a better day
With every morning’s light.

Love is in the air
Carried by a gentle breeze,
In the notes of a birds song
As the melody,..genlty,.. drifts through the trees.

The time has come to make ready
To plan and to prepare,
Even though it’s cool outside
A taste of spring, and love, is in the air!

Or is it just me………….. grin

The being said, will close by leaving a few thoughts by others;

“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” – Carl Bard

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great makes you feel that you, too, can become great.” – Mark Twain

And I shall venture on down the path least traveled, living and knowing life, each second a new adventure…but I shall return one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

Remember, you can realize your dreams, but only if you want to…right, Enya?… 🙂
