More spring, winter, gardening and a poem on the path least traveled……

Dear Diary from the path least traveled…

Hello Diary,

Back again after a busy week of taking care of business, bringing pages of life’s history to a close, a bit of indoor gardening, doing what I can for the environment, etc and preparing for spring, although winter is not giving in without a struggle…cold temperatures tonight and rest of weekend, , maybe some snow next week… in spite of that bad news, still preparing for spring, have some migratory birds feeding (some Grackles, doves, sparrows, etc), had more birds before I to the pic but something spooked them..

birds feeding

Also the crocus are now blooming from last week….

crocus

Will be interesting to see how the crocus ( and other plants and trees) will deal with the cold temperatures… but still gardening, though indoors.. have a vanity that I do not use ( in what was intended to be master bedroom but hasn’t been used as a bedroom in years.. 🙂 ) so decided to use it as a indoor garden for my radish and onions, can do it year around….first I protected the vanity top..

Garden 1

And put the containers down (those are real green onions in the container on the right)… then I started to “fancy” it up a bit, covered the big mirror and scattered some artificial flowers I had on hand…

Garden 3

I have some more artificial flowers ordered.. also have a energy efficient grow light coming to help the skylight furnish light for the plants.. the large container on the left is for radish, the rest for green onions… will be making changes and tweaking a bit as time goes along, no doubt… 🙂 worked on that to finish the week so now as planned, having a relaxing weekend..have been listening to one of my favorites, a group called Secret Garden.. and will leave one of my poems to read as you listen..

A Invitation..

I received a invitation one day
Oh, not your regular kind,
The words not spoken or written
But were in the heart and mind.

To share a love and happiness
A love, that is precious and true,
A happiness that is eternal
That only lovers and dreamers knew.

The invite did not come the regular way
No cards, no letters, no phone.. you see,
It just appeared one day
In the depths, the spirit and heart of me.

The invite came from an unknown
A unknown too great for me to behold,
But it was to be a precious beginning,
Of a story, one day to be told.

(penned by Larry “Dutch” Woller 2-4-2001)

So shared a few thoughts and memories with you, Diary, and will take my leave now.. using my new ereader and presently reading the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes ( the old Holmes.. 🙂 ) and will do so shortly while listening to Secret Garden… that being said, some thoughts about change..

“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.” -C.S. Lewis

“He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery”. -Harold Wilson

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” -Mother Teresa

So (taking a line from Walt Disney) it is HI HO HI HO on down the path Bree and I go…chasing rainbows and dreams but shall return again one day, Fate be willin’ and the creeks don’t rise…

With the help of the Seven Dwarfs..
